According to studies:
ADE can make vaccinated people more susceptible to serious infection from the virus "ADE may be a concern" for those who have been vaccinated for Covid-19 With ADE, after people get vaccinated for an initial virus, infection by a subsequent variant or strain of the virus can result in "increased viral replication and more severe disease, leading to major safety risks" ADE can also "occur when neutralizing antibodies (which bind the virus and stop it from causing infection) are present at low enough levels that they don't protect against infection. Instead, they can form immune complexes with viral particles, which in turn leads to worse illness" This concern was initially described by some scientists who were subsequently banned from media platforms that incorrectly claimed the scientists were disseminating disinformation Study scientists suggest the answer is to create a new vaccine
In a new study in the Journal of Infection, scientists explain one likely reason why so many vaccinated people are getting sick: a dangerous phenomenon called Antibody Dependent Enhancement or ADE.
Despite the fact that multiple medical authorities predicted, told us, and hoped, ADE would not impact Covid-19 vaccines, data from the study indicates it has done just that.
According to the new study, data suggests that the Covid-19 vaccines originally appeared to provide an overall benefit in fighting the virus. However, when it comes to one of the newer iterations of Covid, the Delta variant, the vaccines appear to facilitate infection displaying "a strikingly increased affinity" for the virus' trademark spike protein.
The scientists conclude that "ADE may be a concern" for those who have been vaccinated for Covid-19.

According to scientific study, the ADE risk was well known prior to the Covid-19 vaccines being allowed on the market.
"One potential hurdle for antibody-based vaccines and therapeutics is the risk of exacerbating COVID-19 severity via antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE)," explained a study in Nature. "ADE can increase the severity of multiple viral infections, including other respiratory viruses such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and measles."
Scientists say that with ADE, after people get vaccinated for an initial virus, infection by a subsequent variant or strain of the virus can result in "increased viral replication and more severe disease, leading to major safety risks."
"Non-neutralizing antibodies generated by past infection or vaccination fail to shut down the pathogen upon re-exposure. Instead, they act as a gateway by allowing the virus to gain entry and replicate in cells that are usually off limits... That, in turn, can lead to wider dissemination of illness, and over-reactive immune responses that cause more severe illness," according to scientists.
An article in MedPage (prior to the new study) dismissed concerns about ADE, but noted it "can also occur when neutralizing antibodies (which bind the virus and stop it from causing infection) are present at low enough levels that they don't protect against infection. Instead, they can form immune complexes with viral particles, which in turn leads to worse illness."
On the other hand, most scientific studies on this topic say those who have recovered from Covid-19 have natural immunity that does not display the same problem, and appears to be superior to that, so far, of that provided by the vaccines.
Nonetheless, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and many public health officials are pressing for more people to get vaccinated, including those who have been previously-infected with Covid. (Numerous studies suggest there is no benefit to recovered patients getting vaccinated.) The health officials state that the vaccinated patients who are getting Covid are getting milder forms than they would have if they had not been vaccinated. However, that is a case-by-case assumption and is impossible to prove.
In Israel, health officials say that only 1% among Covid infections in the latest wave are among those previously infected with Covid. The other 99% are among unvaccinated and not previously-infected, and among fully-vaccinated.
According to the new study, the solution to the current ADE problem is to invent a new, updated version of the vaccine.

In other words, fearmongering of a “what-if” scenario which hasn’t been seen in over 18 months of direct observation....
I think that’s pushing it a bit.
I believe the article/study is saying that ADE could be the reason why the vaccinated are being infected by the delta variant. That’s only been around for 6 months.
They suggest some prudent precautions. Seems reasonable since if ADE becomes observed, by that time half the barn will have burned down.
If we were seeing ADE it would be the vaccinated people that were the sickest taking up room in the ICUs and dying from covid. Instead it is just the opposite. It is overwhelmingly the unvaccinated being hospitalized abs almost exclusively the unvaccinated in the ICU and dying of the disease
If ADE were an issue with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we’d have seen it by now. And if it were an issue, it would mostly likely be with the N protein as the 2012 paper on SARS-CoV-1 ADE specifically addressed. Since the vaccines only produce antibodies against the S protein, and since nobody has experienced ADE with reinfection, it stands to reason ADE isn’t happening and is extremely unlikely at this point.
Is it possible? Sure. It’s possible a meteor will hit the Earth tomorrow and wipe out all life. It’s possible SARS-CoV-2 will turn into something as bad as weaponized smallpox and eradicated human life. It’s possible zombies will rise from the grave and eat us.
But I don’t worry about extremely remote possibilities. Is it worth keeping an eye out for evidence of it? Sure. Is it worth worrying about? Or endless articles and posts about it? No. May as well have endless articles and posts about UFO abductions.
.
And reinfections would be through the roof as any minor exposure would result in ADE producing a viable infection. But nope, still rare. Still mild outcomes. Still no ADE.
“The health officials state that the vaccinated patients who are getting Covid are getting milder forms than they would have if they had not been vaccinated. However, that is a case-by-case assumption and is impossible to prove.”
The CDC is making this claim anyway. The MSM allows it despite it being misinformation.
Sounds like natural immunity is the way to go.
👍

Your opinion. It might not be observable now but the study is discussing a potential response of the current vaccines to the delta variant, and that’s only been in the US for about 2 months. I think it’s too early to know.
The rest of your post was stupid, insulting, and not worthy of a response.
” Inasmuch as neutralizing antibodies overwhelm facilitating antibodies, ADE is not a concern.”
“this potential risk has been cleverly anticipated before the massive use of Covid-19 vaccines6, the ability of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies to mediate infection enhancement in vivo has never been formally demonstrated. However, although the results obtained so far have been rather reassuring, to the best of our knowledge ADE of Delta variants has not been specifically assessed.”
coulda woulda shoulda
Delta was born in October 2020 in India, well before vaccines were developed much less distributed in India. ADE in Delta hasn’t been ‘specifically assessed’ because nobody’s reporting it as an issue. Those who have been vaccinated and get infected with Delta, generally have mild infections, depending on individual antibody production.
Are there people who get reinfected twice after vaccination ? Has anyone seen any stories? The bigger danger is the virus itself mutating its immune escape devices like it’s been doing all along.
Against Delta:
Pfitzer (July 21 New England Journal of Medicine) 88% effective against hospitalization, down from 93% ; in the UK 93% effective down from 94%; Scotland 79% (Lancet); Canada 87%; Israel 67% and 93% against death, adjusted in late July to 44% against symptoms but still 88% hospitalization and 93% death. France (July 8 study), one dose 13%, two doses 94%
Moderna: Canada 70% one dose 95% two doses down from 97%
AZ - England 79% and 96% (Public Health England); one dose 13% two doses 96% (July 8 study)
J&J - one dose - 87% effective hospitalization, especially robust against Delta (phase 3 Ensemble study) across all demographics; 71% and 96% (South Africa Sisonke study 500K subjects)
Novavax - (recombinant nanoparticle vaccine) England 89% overall with 86% against alpha and 96% against all other variants

The Delta variant was first discovered in the US in February and was already over 1% of US COVID-19 cases by the first week in May: (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions).
We've had several months of resolved cases, breakthrough cases, reinfections, etc. None showed any sign of ADE. There is some resistance to antibodies of previous variants of COVID-19; not ADE. It doesn't take long to know when ADE is present as you see mass reinfection with more severe outcome. Not happening with Delta. Didn't happen with any other variant either. If we were going to see it, it would almost certainly have happened by now and the first people to show signs of it would probably be the ones previously infected. That's how ADE works most of the time.
John Rahm (golfer) had to drop out of a tournament he was leading due to a positive test & then again, the Olympics due to a positive test. I don’t know the back story. I would imagine he was vaxed (?)
My general rule is “Two weeks”.
They might dump this on Friday, since we just lost the war on Terror and are letting 10K Americans get beheaded, raped, and mutilated.
You know. Good cover.
Pulled my flag down today. Seems like what you do when you lose.
If your concern is ADE, natural infection is more likely to produce it. ADE relies on suboptimal antibodies and a 2012 paper on SARS-CoV-1 (SARS2003) ADE specifically suggested that the N protein (or nucleocapsid protein) is most likely to produce antibodies that cause ADE.
Vaccination only produces antibodies against the S protein. Infection produces antibodies against the S, M, and N proteins. Ergo, more risk of ADE. But don’t let that worry you since NOBODY has shown ANY evidence of ADE anywhere in 18 months of dealing with COVID-19.
Of my crew.
All of the current Covid infections are vaccinated.
None of the natural immunity (recovered vid) are.
Small sample size, but I am seeing that in wider circles.
Some of the vaxed are VERY sick.
I hope everyone makes a fast and complete recovery. Anyone showing symptoms who tests positive for COVID-19 should absolutely contact an infusion center to get monoclonal antibody therapy ASAP regardless of their vaccination status. That’s the same treatment President Trump got when he was so sick with COVID-19 he had to be hospitalized. 24 hours later he walked out of the hospital declaring monoclonals to be a miracle drug. The earlier you can get it, the better it works.
President Trump got vaccinated in January.
Very interesting ... thanks!
