It was quite perplexing for social media users as they wondered why the clocks for London and Moscow, which are two hours apart, were showing a three-hour gap in a White House photo of President Joe Biden meeting with the vice president and the national security team about the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.

London and the Greenwich Observatory are not the same thing. If the clock in the photo released by the White House was representing GMT (also known as Greenwich Mean Time, UTC, or Zulu) then it would have been marked “GMT”. All of Great Britain is currently one hour ahead of GMT...GMT+1 due to the annual shift for daylight savings time.

There's currently a two hour difference between Moscow and London time. See for yourself:

In London, the clocks move forward the last Sunday in March for Daylight Savings Time.

Moscow does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

Starting the last Sunday in October, the London Clock will go back an hour, restoring the three hour difference with Moscow.

So this photo could only be taken sometime between January 20 and March 27 of this year.
