Hello. Hi, table for two, please. Sure, and your name. Fredrick. Great. And do you and your guest have your vaccination cards? We do. Can you tell us who our server will be? Um, looks like Brad will be your server tonight. Great. Can you show us Brad's vaccination card? Um... And also, can you provide me with proof that Brad is not a carrier of HIV, Hepatitis A or B, or any other communicable diseases? Um... Also, we would prefer not to be served by someone who is on or uses recreational drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, meth, fentanyl, etc, so if you could provide us with Brad's most recent tox screen, that would be great. Um... Let me get the manager for you. That would be great, thanks.
One could also ask for his tax returns to see if he is reporting all tip income and paying his “fair share” of taxes.
Even more personal questions of the Manager, I’d assume...
I’d give anything for that scene to be in “Parks & Recreation” when Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) takes April out to lunch!
Love it.
Pinging the rest.
Went to our local Greek Diner today after church - the place was packed - people waiting for a table. Not enough Brad’s - only three waiters working - one kid to clean tables.
The Greek guy who owns the place was shutting down early today because of no help - and no one even coming in to apply. He actually has more business than he can handle.
I like the idea. Thanks.
Sit down and you can take off your mask; well then, we should all hobble around bent over so we don’t catch it since COVID doesn’t dwell lower that five feet.
I’d suggest directing those comments exclusively to the owner. He’s the one who sets policy. The other folks there at just trying to earn a living. They should be commended for showing up for work instead of sitting at home collecting welfare.
Just my two cents.
nonsense.
I have “updated” (cough) vaxx cards and covid tests to show when they ask for it. I dont even have to open my mouth and waste my time for that stupid script..
I could so do that routine.
But of course at the end of that routine I would tell them, in an outside voice, that I would never ever dare to eat in a restaurant that employs gestapo tactics like this. And I would walk the eff out.
Funny but ... I own a popular restaurant and not a one of the people there enjoys any part of the masking or lockdown BS.
Now ask me to join you harassing the harassers and I’m in.
We don’t like being threatened by them either but do like to stay in business and provide jobs when we can.
I would bet I hate this more than you ? I don’t need to get beat up anymore than Covid and it’s thugs have already done to us.
BTW my restaurant is equipped with UVC air purifiers and temperature humidity controls so that if you’re in my restaurant it’s safer than the car you drove there in, the home you end your day at or your workplace unless you’ve installed a system that is as good as mine.
Unfortunately Covid is real. One side injects constant fear porn
I try to provide a safe environment for all and most everyone appreciates that.

Your two cents makes sense. But if I happened to be a worker at that restaurant and I was told that I must follow the Communist party line or be fired; if I must be vaccinated or be fired; well yeah. I would sit home collecting welfare as well.
>> proof that Brad is not a carrier of HIV, Hepatitis A or B, or any other communicable diseases?
That about that very thing just yesterday — but a different setting.
That seems to be the norm these days.
If they mandate the vax on anyone who works there, that could also be a problem. I have worked at my job for 38 yrs. If they say I have to get the vax, I’ll quit right on the spot.
I feel bad for you. You are in a very tough position, I realize that.
You have the government leaning on you to enforce their illegal mask mandates, you have employees who don’t wanna work under these idiotic conditions, and why should they? They can collect more in welfare than they do in wages. And of course you have customers who resent being told they must wear a mask while they’re trying to enjoy their meal.
And what will this get you Mr. Restaurant Owner? As you know, you are very lucky and fortunate indeed to have survived the first lockdown. And when, not if but when, the second lock down comes will you survive then?
Good luck.
That’s actually funny. Good routine on stage. Some comments are .... can’t find the words. If you can’t laugh, you’re lost.
I understand your point. But business owners are not putting sufficient heat onto the political leaders at the state and local level.
When normal people apply heat to you, it is in hope of redirecting you from worrying about installing outdoor tables, air filters, covid protocols, etc and hopefully getting you angry enough to start blowtorching some state and local leaders.
Thanks for providing another of FR’s many “posts from the real world.”
