Glenn Greenwald has been making new enemies lately. Once feted on the left for his reporting on government surveillance – based on documents leaked to him by the intelligence analyst Edward Snowden – America’s most conspicuous journalist spent much of the last few years taking issue with liberal suspicions of a plot between Donald Trump & Russia. The result of this impudence was Greenwald’s disappearance from liberal news networks such as MSNBC. He became instead a frequent guest on conservative network Fox News.
Under normal circumstances, within the factional landscape of US political discourse, this fraternising with the right would have caused Greenwald to be cast out of left-of-centre polite society. But the Trump years were not normal. A new generation of self-styled leftists scorned the Democratic Party for its moderation. They felt the Beltway resistance theatrics were a distraction from real issues of class and were less offended by Greenwald’s turn as a Fox pundit.
This left-wing tendency lost its momentum with the defeat of Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Democratic primaries. With promises of concessions, such as professed openness to overturning the filibuster in the Senate, Joe Biden wooed the young left back towards the Democratic Party. During the heady days of the Sanders campaign many on the left considered the parties equally corrupt and condemnable – now the consensus seems to be once more that the Democrats are the lesser of two evils. Greenwald, refusing to grant this, has found himself exposed.
Matters intensified in October 2020 when, shortly before the November presidential election, Greenwald filed an article on corruption allegations against Biden’s son Hunter to the Intercept, the news website he co-founded in 2014. The editors resisted publishing the article without shifting its focus. Greenwald resigned...

“The greatest journalist of all time?”
I don’t know about all time, but he’s easily one of the best around right now. He might be the Last Honest Liberal to the extent such a thing ever actually existed.
Honestly there are only about 2 dozen journalists left with an investigation team around them to write at the 1/10th the rate GLENN GREENWALD does every week. Unfortuantly those other teams are not independant enough to explore a PTA spat.
Glenn and John Solomon are the only digital media guys who produce enough content to base an entire site around. That and John Cass are the about the extent of the individuals I seek out looking for content. There have been conservative writers who could keep up in the past but they mostly are gone now.
Solomon is a good shout. I’m a fan and follow him on you know where
Always seemed pretty straight up when I saw him on Fox. Kind of like an old school journalist that told it like it is, didn’t take sides and wasn’t afraid to say the baby is ugly.
Non-propagandist bump for Glenn Greenwald.
I think this article could have been much better. Capture the drift the democrats have to total alignment with the wealthy global corporatists. Greenwald is pretty good in addressing that.
That is what Woke is all about. Distracting the masses from the economic theft taking place in the new road to serfdom.
Journalists are so rare anymore. Perhaps we need to start a captive breeding and release program, to get them back out there in the wild again?

LOL! Indeed. We need to repopulate this endangered species. Journalistica Investigatus.
I also like Sharyl Attkisson and Lara Logan.
I regard him as one of the foremost and most eloquent conservative spokesmen today. He is not a journalist, but as far as social and political commentary, I rate him up there just below Victor Davis Hanson as a conservative voice.
He puts out on average two videos every three days or so, and this is an example of what he has this week:
He is not a scholar like VDH, but...he is an every day man. He resonates with me, since his arguments for and against things are based on everyday logic and conservative principles.
I had kind of a funny experience-when I joined for the first time, they sent me a CD with seven parts on it:
Bill Whittle's Seven Part Series: What We Believe
Part 1: Small Government and Free Enterprise
Part 2: The Problem with Elitism
Part 7: American Exceptionalism
I was so impressed with it (each one is relatively short) that I was determined to buy about 30 of them to give as gifts to people I know, but...I found out he had made them available online! I'm sure he could have used that money...:)
He has a large historical bank of videos (His Firewall videos were astonishingly good) but he puts out five general categories of videos (all are relatively short, 15 min or less except for the Stratosphere Lounge) in order of how much I enjoy them:
In addition, he has done two major multi-part "What We Saw" videos both of which I enjoyed as much as anything: "The Cold War: What We Saw" and Apollo 11: What We Saw". The Cold War (13 parts) one was EXCELLENT, a whole episode on Robin Olds, a Vietnam pilot who I greatly admire.
You can probably guess how much I enjoy his work. If you are a conservative, this website is for you!
If you haven’t seen Bill Whittle, check out my post above.
Thanks.
He’s good but I’ll stick with Ernie Pyle as the best of all time.
Bttt
Thanks. Lately I've also been enjoying Bari Weiss' excellent podcast. After leaving the New York Times in disgust, she's become another liberal contrarian attacking cancel culture and runaway wokeism.
I haven’t seen him on FOX cable in ages....Where is he?
Bill Whittle is brilliant. His “Apollo 11: What We Saw” is excellent. And his tactic of making fun of leftists is true. He promoted a graphic the “LOL” with an Obama circle in the middle. Very good.
