N-acetylcysteine (NAC) has been used in clinical practice to treat critically ill septic patients, and more recently for COVID-19 patients. NAC has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune modulating Characteristics that may prove beneficial in the treatment and prevention of SARS-Cov-2. This review offers a thorough analysis of NAC and discusses its use in the treatment of COVID-19.
NAC, precursor of the antioxidant glutathione, has been used to loosen thick mucus in the lungs and treat acetaminophen overdose for decades. However, neck can also boost the immune system, suppress viral replication, and reduce inflammation. Despite these valuable features, neck has been mostly overlooked during the SARS-Cov and MERS-Cov epidemics, as well as the current COVID-19 epidemic.
NAC Offers the Following Key Features to Combat COVID-19
Antivirus Functions of NAC

NAC Could Also be a Direct Inhibitor of SARS-Cov-2

That also kinda sounds like peripheral artery disease (can’t remember the name now) or intermittent claudication, basically a circulatory issue I beleive, which resolves with rest.
My calf muscles will tighten up and I get a burning pain after even short walks, and have to rest the calf muscles before I can keep going. Also, get it in forearms and neck area.
I forgot about that. Used to use it, as a tea.
I was reading that there had been concerns NAC contributed to Pulmonary Hypertension?
I started taking it as an immune booster but I have COPD and it does help...especially in the hot weather. 500mg/day. I was able to get it initially on Amazon. No longer. I use the Jarrow brand.
These are some possible issues:

It would be wise to see if a low dose causes an issue prior to using it in a more normal fashion.
As I stated above, it might be best to not take it each day (I have in the past with no issue), but to take it when one suspects a COVID-19 infection.
However, the authors found it truly helps as a preventative.
Yes, NAC helps with COPD.
Strangely, a keto diet does, too, by causing less CO2 to be emitted, as I recall from a study a year or two ago.
Nope.....
peripheral artery disease
There’s a chain of names with the top level being atherosclerosis >> peripheral artery disease >> intermittent claudication.
The calves is where it starts for me and eventually works it’s way up the legs. There are a couple of major arteries in the pelvic area so I’m guessing I have a clog or narrowing there. Walmart parking lots are big. I forgot something and had to go back in one time and wasn’t sure I was going to make it.

Please take a look at the post I gave you for helping both hard and soft plaques go away.
Thanks, I missed your first reply to me.
Lol it stinks.
Ever Research SERRAPEPTASE? Lots of wonderful youtube videos on it! Cleans out arteries also. All Natural
MitoQ is supposed to do wonders but it’s not cheap
I don’t know if what I h8ave is the same, but yep, parking lots are a killer for me. And there are certain times that the pain is worse than others. My calves will tighten right up, like when you brace yourself for impact or something, and they won’t release if I keep trying to walk. I have to stop and let them rest, then I can go on for a little longer,, then happens again. It’s a burning painful condition, like when a person exercises, they get to a point where th3 muscles begin to burn and hurt and get weak, only it happens to me very quickly
There’s also several, conditions that have the symptoms, like glucose storage disease, mitochondrial dysfunction (mitochondria are the ‘power houses or engines I n the cells that give muscles their energy, but something gets wonky, and breaks down and muscles don’t get the energy they need)
And several,different neuropathic etc
It’s very frustrating looking for answers but not finding them. Unfortunately naturalists prey on desperate people, knowing they will spend anything to try to feel better, all for nought. (Sometimes someone will stumble on a solution, but. NOt often)
Well, hope, they find what is going on with you and can fix it. The pain can make life miserable

MitoQ has been reported to cause kidney damage. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5880956/
Been taking NAC for almost 2 years now...gg
MitoQ does place an antioxidant molecule in an especially useful place inside of mitochondria, but it is quickly used up. Additionally, it's been found to cause issues with kidney cells (but seemingly no where else).
Mushrooms have a unique antioxidant called “ergothioneine.” There are ion channels that place this molecule into a very similar place in all mitochondria. The amazing benefit is that mitochondria already have a process in place to regenerate the molecule for up to one month after placement. That, no issues with kidney cells, and that you can get a decent amount from oyster (including king oyster) mushrooms, makes it the winner.
Other mushrooms have it, but in smaller amounts. For instance, white mushrooms have something like 1/20 the amount by volume.
