Biden says Afghan leaders must 'fight for their nation' as Taliban gains increase

Taliban insurgents tightened their grip on captured Afghan territory on Tuesday, now controlling 65 per cent of the country, as US President Joe Biden urged the nation's leaders to fight for their homeland.

Pul-e-Khumri, capital of the northern province of Baghlan, fell to the Taliban on Tuesday evening, according to residents who reported Afghan security forces retreating towards the Kelagi desert, home to a large Afghan army base.

Pul-e-Khumri became the seventh regional capital to come under the control of the militants in about a week.

"Afghan leaders have to come together," Biden told reporters at the White House, saying the Afghan troops outnumber the Taliban and must want to fight. "They've got to fight for themselves, fight for their nation."

The US president said he does not regret his decision to withdraw, noting that Washington has spent more than $1 trillion over 20 years and lost thousands of troops. He said the United States continues to provide significant air support, food, equipment and salaries to Afghan forces.

In Kabul, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said he was seeking help from regional militias he has squabbled with for years. He appealed to civilians to defend Afghanistan's "democratic fabric".

Afghan military men who have surrendered were summarily executed. Hearing the machine-gunning was very depressing, but not unexpected.

I don’t disagree, but it would have been nice, Mr. President (or whomevr is running the show in swampy DC), if you han’t armed the Taliban before you hight-tailed it out of there.

The American people have to “fight” for their nation as well.

Biden is illegitimate. The packet captures prove that communist China interfered in our elections. Pelosi and the Rats spent 50 million investigating “Russia Collussion”.

Now it’s time for the GOP to do the same on Chinese Puppet Biden. His regime needs to be forcibly removed and the coup plotters to face justice.

We tried trusting the GOP, and look at what happened. Even the SCOTUS stabbed us in the back.

Remember, Biden was chosen by Biden because of his foreign affairs experience..and he would make a great lap dog.

Sadly, the GOP is just a reflection of its voters. GOP voters are by and large weak, politically naive and short sighted. We’ll have to do better than that to defeat rampaging marxists.

Nobody there gives a crap about Afghanistan, as a nation, if anything, it should be broken up.

Carlin was right:

Now, there’s one thing you might have noticed I don’t complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here...

like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.’

US President Joe Biden urged the nation's leaders to fight for their homeland

Two important points. Please repeat point #1 every time you post:

1) Biden didn't urge, call for, demand, prohibit, endorse, etc, etc anything. Every time you say or repost anything that begins "Biden [action verb] X" you help conceal who is running the Executive Branch and where our major problem lies.

2) With regard to Afghanistan, the Taliban IS "their homeland".

Last time today, I promise.

"Biden" did nothing except ask for maple sugar on his oatmeal for breakfast.

Stop attributing what happens in DC and with our security forces to "Biden". It simply runs cover for whoever or whatever is running the show.

Afghanistan was going to end badly regardless of whether we left five years ago or five years from now. Nobody was going to change that, not Trump or Biden or Obama or anyone else. The only difference between a Trump pullout and a Biden one is that under a Trump pullout all this would have been happening a few months ago instead of now.

Afghanistan is already going back to being a tribal Islamic dung heap. Nothing we have done in the last two decades could have altered what is happening. Biden just made it happen more quickly and will rightly or wrongly get the blame.
