Three thousand years? No problem I have plenty of other things to attend to until then.

It will take 3,000 years because it will take the undereducated idiots of Planet Lockdown 2,999 years to get the message sent.

Technically all the aliens could have already received signals because we don’t know the speed of light in only one direction.

We’ll hear from the stupid civilizations first.
Who else would answer us and give away their existence?

There would have to be aliens out there to recieve them first. I am firmly in the ‘they ain’t there’ column right now.
To: LibWhacker
by the time we get an answer, there won’t be any intelligent life left here to receive it.

In 3000 years I Love Lucy will reach there, and that will surely want them to contact us?

I am a sucker for articles like this. There is usually little that is new but nonetheless I still find the topic fascinating to ponder.
However if we don't want a mass extinction event we best hope aliens never find us. I read one article where some liberal was hoping aliens find us and offer us a solution to climate change I kid you not.

We will not be waiting for that life to come from Washington, D.C. or any place under the control of Democrats. It will probably be more like 3,000,000 years.

There are thousands and thousands of folks who claim they have spoken to (or communicated with) aliens—right here on Earth.
Science’s approach is to call them crazy cranks—meanwhile searching all over the universe....

I like how he off-handedly says that the odds are one in ten million, so we need to consider ten million stars.
Does EVERY star have a habitable planet?
