Got to hand out all that walking around money.
It wont be long now, the infrastructure bill is the vehicle and mcconnell knew it. But they would have done away with the filibuster if they had not gotten their way. By the time it is over, they will do away with it anyway. They will never lose power, they ensure that now.
I will buy the beer!
Quorum in the House of Representatives is 218. The Democrats have 220.
Stay home, or stay away. I don’t care if this sounds hypocritical, self defense is essential, and this is self defense, against Democrat political control, and massive hyperinflation. Either we have a thin shred of credibility in out government, or it dissolves. The later is where we are headed.
Really? All you need is a majority, not 2/3 of members present?
Still, 220 when you need 218 is razor-thin. Surely 3 Dems can be found who don't like the Senate Bill...
What am I thinking? Expecting the Repubs to march in lockstep, and the Dems not to? I must have heat stroke or something.
Hearings and voting could be done in a day or two online instead of all our Congresspeople traveling to DC like it’s 1789 or something.
But then they’d have to stay in their home districts with their grubby constituents instead of hobnobbing with their favorite bartenders and prostitutes.
Losing the filibuster is a sword that cuts both ways.
IF they federalize voting laws, it will be the end of the US. I will gladly support secession.
