Even though the fan did not use a racial slur, he is lucky he was not punished by the Rockies. We have seen occasions where a person has been punished for using words that sound similar to a racial slur, yet have no racial meaning.

I’m almost afraid to see what will happen if 4chan gets ahold of this story.
What the hell is wrong with people? Have they lost every bit of intelligence and thoughtfulness? Did the people listening to this guy not know that the mascot was named “Dinger”? What the hell is going on in the world?
Since the fan was identified and appears to have been contacted (at least indirectly) by the media:
- Has some helpful, self-empowered guardian of “wokeness” doxxed him on the Internet yet?
- Have his social media accounts been suspended/cancelled?
- Has his employer been called to complain and a demand made that he be fired for his inexcusable behavior?
- Has BLM/Antifa announced an after dark “mostly peaceful” protest at his house?
- Has his property been threatened with damage or destruction.
- Has his life or the lives of his family members been threatened?
Just the standard woke package for wrong speak offenders.
I believe the baseball term is “rabbit ears”.
