A lot of Freepers opted out of FR because of Jim Robinson’s warning that his site was under surveilance by the federal government, namely the FBI and the NSC.
There was a caution posted about this many years ago, and a lot of Freepers opted out, many who were military and federal employees with security clearances to maintain.

Well, I mostly just post about Bible prophecy stuff (or I do a lot, that is).

And now since the election and the witch hunt from the government a bunch more have opted out. Participation dropped like a rock. Many are afraid to participate because it is wide open for public view. They feel they can’t speak freely anymore without possible future repercussions.

Also, FR has, in some ways, become a parody of itself. Everpresent freepathons. Conspiracy theorists. Endless vanities in news/breaking news.
Especially the flood of drug pushers/addicts under the guise of "libertarians."
This place has changed and sometimes people just need a break from the internet.
