Nastia Liukin has penned a special message for Simone Biles.
The 31-year-old gold medal-winning gymnast shared an emotional note to Biles, 24, on Wednesday, after the decorated United States gymnast bowed out of the women's team final as well as the individual all-around at the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
"Thank you for showing the depth of who you are beyond an athlete as a leader, role model, mental health warrior, and person," Liukin wrote on social media, adding that Biles is "epitomizing what the next generation of role models should be."
Liukin also lauded Biles "for creating a safer space for current and future athletes to unequivocally be themselves."

She supposedly takes Ritalin, which is banned in Japan, so that may be why she quit some of the events.
“A special arrangement is in place specifically for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games to allow athletes taking these medicines for therapeutic use, and with an approved Therapeutic Use Exemption, to import personal supplies for the treatment of their medical condition while they are in Japan,” a document provided via Team USA says.”

So according to this, she was allowed to take her stimulants.
Role model? For crazy?
Olympic awards need updating...
Gold, Silver, Bronze and Participation Trophies.
I like the People cover story that says she made Olympic history by putting her mental health first. That's the Woke philosophy in a nutshell: celebrate failure.
I believe in due coarse it will come out that it wasn’t her decision to drop out of events, it was a warning by Tokyo Olympic officials about a blood test — thereby risking the entire USA team.
... then like this story, they “temporarily” approved the drugs she was taking, allowing her to compete in her final event.
Then we will learn that the drugs she was “permitted to take” are banned in the future.
The Olympic games are tarnished, team USA is tarnished, Simone Biles is tarnished — after all, the final choice was hers to take the drugs.
Screw all of them — we are back in the days when East Germany was cheating with drugs.
That photo is not Biles, is it?
Yeah, that was pretty heroic to abandon her team. At least she came back to compete personally because it’s all about her. What an arrogant look she has on that magazine cover. She should be ashamed of herself.
Biles has stated two of her role models are fellow quitters Lebron James and Naomi Osaka. She has expressed support for BLM, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor. Biles came up with the “twisties” explanation after the “mental health” baloney didn’t wash. She embarrassed the country and cost Team USA at least two gold medals. Bottom line: Biles choked and then made excuses for it.
I wouldn’t say she is a failure. A competitor though, she is not.
She had a jeweled Goat head sewn onto her uniform then she blew it on the biggest stage in the world. It happens but the Left doesn't have to celebrate it as some sort of Orwellian triumph.

She quit because she was performing poorly and didn't want to soil her reputation. She knew the media would buy the excuse.
