Did they just violate the 3rd amendment?

Posted on 08/06/2021 2:21:58 PM PDT by GraceG

So because of the CDC mandate for landlords to NOT evict people...

What happens if the person who is not paying their rent is a either service member, a military contractor or a government employee?

3rd text:

"No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

We are NOT at war....

Even if we were, the CDC edict is NOT lawful anyways (prescribed by law).

and this is certainly WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE OWNER!

You’re right Salamander. You can pay the bank off but you’re never done paying the state for the privilege of ‘’renting’’ the land your home sits on.

One of the sad facts of living in New Jersey is that property taxes pay for education. So illegals, who don’t own homes put their kids in a public school they’re not paying for it.

My wife and I had don’t have kids in school. Her son(my step son) is well over thirty, married with his two sons. One is out of college and the other graduates this year. It’s one thing to pay for citizens kids and quite another to have to pick up the check for somebody who is here in violation of the law and getting a free ride.

I see that on an almost daily basis in the hospital emergency room I work in. Jabbering mutts from Mexico, Central America and God knows where else , no insurance and you and I are footing the bill.

You might wonder why a Dixie girl like you would be paying but my hospital, like so many others gets Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements for these folks so that comes out of everybody’s pocket.

Renters indirectly pay the property taxes on their rentals, Why not a moratorium on property taxes for investment properties? That’d set off a squealing in county governments across the land. Instead, we just get a shift of the tax burden into the landlords. If I didn’t know better, I’d suspect that government is trying to discourage property ownership.

You will own nothing and be grateful for the privilege.
