The Democrats along with 17 Republicans want to tax all vehicles by the mile.

Imagine the inflation in goods and services this will create.

This will create an army of unionized federal vehicle mileage inspectors.

Because you have to have green EV vehicles paying the same amount of tax that they collect from fuel tax.
EV drivers should not get a break from paying fuel tax. We pay at the pump per gallon for fuel taxes on cars and trucks

There’s been talk of a by-the-mile tax for about twenty years. The technology is there. Your phone knows where you are at all times and how fast you’re going. My guess is that’s what they’ll use. In which case, I’ll just leave it at home.

Gotta capture revenue from those 50% of electric vehicles by 2030, since they don’t buy fuel and pay fuel excise taxes.

Back in 1978, when I was working for the State of Oregon DMV, Oregon established an annual fee that applied to cars that did not run on gas, to make up for the lost gasoline tax revenue. That way, the burden appropriately fell on those who did not buy gas.

One thins is perfectly clear... With this type of govt we are all bound to get screwed one way or the other. I think it’s more likely to be ‘one way AND another’.

Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters are reminded that the proposed federal mileage tax is an unconstitutional expansion of the already unconstitutionally big federal government's powers imo.

Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.

Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.

The only thing Congre$$ is good at is figuring out ways of screwing the American taxpayers out of more money. That’s why these bills are thousands of pages long which encourages all of them to pass it based on what the title claims like: ACA: Affordable Care Act
CARES: Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act
HR1: For the People Act of 2019
FY21: Budget Reconciliation Bill

All lies and supported, verbally by Democrats and RINOs and silently by the DC Swamp Republicans.

If they limit it to electric vehicles that don’t use gasoline I could see it. But I know Democrats. They’d want everyone to pay it EXCEPT those driving “green” cars.

They will put additional federal and state taxes on power and call it “green”. You will own nothing and be happy.
