LGBTQIAXYZ (and some Marxists I’m sure) held a symposium to discuss transgender and critical race applied philosophies to Lord of the Rings. (Some believe this is a quasi-marketing campaign for the Amazon Lord of the Rings series coming out next year which looks to upend Tolkien’s Christian worldview and woke-ize it with lots of sex and strong wahmen.
Just Some Guy rips them a new one here easily destroying one of their arguments.
I love the books.
I thought Jackson’s LOTR were mostly good, with a few bits that annoyed me.
I hated the Hobbit movies.
Loved GOT until Season 8 ruined all 8 seasons.
I have no plans to watch anything like this in the future. They just piss on it.
Lemme guess. Amazon going to turn their Middle Earth series into Woke Porn.
Oh yeah - the casting calls already have language about “nude scenes”in them.
According to one LTR site a few months ago, they are very faithful to the book, and themes. This may have changed since then. I do not know.

Sorry, I could only get as far as the ladyboy saying that Tolkien’s intent in his writings didn’t matter. An author’s intent most certainly does matter.
BTW, why are most people who choose the personal pronoun “they” fat? Are they saying that their mass exceeds that of a single person?
I read somewhere that Amazon wanted their own “Game of Thrones” and this what they considered Middle Earth. So we can anticipate something truly horrible.

The way that certain storylines in Season 7 were rushed was a foreshadow of the trainwreck that they called Season 8.
Ironic that the streaming industry got a big boost because cable programming was so abysmally bad, only to result in the streaming industry quickly becoming worse that cable.
Every “original” series on streaming is 1) original only in its perversion of far better existing works 2) painful gutter dreck with all the plot and artistry of a porn movie.

They ran out of books to crib from and had to fall back on their own ideas and, well, you see how well that worked.
Nerdrotic has done some videos on this too. He thinks Martin will never finish the series because all of his works are now considered misogynist and anti-woke and he’ll get cancelled immediately.
The thing about Tolkien fans is they know their lore. They do not tolerate deviation from cannon. Wokisim in LOTR will be mocked to Mordor and back again.
And the LGBT wackjobs can't take it, and are constantly assering Sam is gay and "loves" Frodo because he lets him sleep with his head in his lap and calls him "beautiful" (Faramir also said this about Boromir's body in the boat). It is really sick. Tolkien saw brutal action as a solider in the WWI trenches and experienced intense bonding and brotherhood with his fellow soliders, which is powerfully echoed in LOTR.
It is really repulsive how much interest space is being givin to people grossly distorting his intent in "gayness."
I love my boy Gary. It’s been fascinating watching him over the last four years.
