Quinn Ewers, the top-ranked high school football player in America for the Class of 2022, is skipping his senior year to enroll early at Ohio State. His father, Curtis Ewers, informed Yahoo Sports of his son's decision. Prior to the NIL change, Ewers was headed into his senior season at Southlake Carroll High School, located outside Dallas.

Offer the GED test to all 16 year-olds. Shit-14!

Everybody walk out on day one of Freshman year.
Call it a tie. 4.0 for everyone.
Schools that cannot compete will drop football. You may wind up with only 50 Division I football teams when this is all over.
Reading, writing and arithmetic are the basic skills that everybody needs. Unless they are pursuing a profession (such as medicine, law, engineering), high school is not necessary.
People going into the trades (i.e. construction, carpentry, plumbing, electricians, etc.) should be apprenticing instead of wasting four years in high school. Young women that want to be housewives and mothers should be home with their families, learning how to cook, care for infants and run the household finances.
I'm dead serious by the way.
Apparently mullets have magical powers...they even let white Aussies outrun Jamaicans.
I must say that I am happy for the young man. He looks like a very prototypical QB. 6’3” at 18. Might grow a couple more inches during his college years.
He’s already 18…must have been held back in school at least once
Kid only has to complete one on-line course to finish up high school.
Also, isn’t this the kid that already has a million bucks in endorsements etc coming in? From what I understand he couldn’t accept any money if he played another year of high school football. No downside to completing one course, getting his H.S. diploma and collecting a million bucks at the same time.
Another interesting development will be in basketball. NBA more and more is going overseas for players, instead of US colleges, so those hot shot high school players may find themselves out of luck.
it's his decision, individual choice is not just a Jean Luc Ponty Album.
Nice JLP reference.
I think Division 1 is more likely to split, formally or informally. The schools that have real amateurs will simply stop scheduling the Power 5’s, and just play each other.
Hey Sam-I agree with you 100% but the horses have left the barn. Coal miners didn’t finish HS. Didn’t need a diploma. The reconing came with the death of mining/manufacturing. Still we can’t prepare for the unpredictables. Neither does the government.
I used to enjoy the NBA when it still had some semblance of a team sport.
Heck, why not. He can go full Marinovich, what do you care?
Just call me the cosmic messenger :)
I agree but, they may not be as well attended as some think.
Lots of kids want to play football because it is fun.
Most can’t \stand\ the attitude of the overly-talented who walk around saying, I’m going to the NFL some day.
MAFA - Make Football FUN Again.
Check out Matt(I think) Bolling.
White dude ran a sub 10 in high school.
I just listened to Cosmic Messenger and I feel high...
Y’all need to check out bad ass high school quarterback Arch Manning, grandson of Archie Manning of the new Orleans Saints. He’s being sought out by all the major colleges and the NFL teams are keeping an eye on him too, especially the Saints.
Usually one feels high, then listens :) But that's in younger days.
