With the Branson hospital maxed out with COVID-19 patients, doctors contacted a dozen hospitals in all corners of the state. All were at capacity. Lake Regional was nearly full, too,
Here is the Missouri COVID19 Healthcare dashboard. As of today, while numbers are high, they are still below the fall/winter rise and sustained heights. Hospitalization capacity is 27%, ICU Capacity is 16%, and ventilator capacity is 67%.
Something is rotten in Branson.
Perhaps Medicaid patients. Hospitals strangely reach capacity more quickly.
In a side note, I’ve told family that if ever I am injured or fall ill at tha Lake, they are to get me to Columbia or St Louis without fail.
Our local hospital only has 4 ventilators/ICU IIRC. And the Branson hospital is not too far from Springfield, so I wonder whether Branson would have the facilities for very many needing that sort of treatment or if they usually transport to Springfield.
Our local hospital just stabilizes the patient and then transports to St. Louis hospitals. But if you wrote a story and said the ICU was full, and mentioned only 4 beds—well that would take away the drama and the propaganda impact.
And we have a lot of these sort of tales—St. Louis reporters coming here and finding individuals to write about and lament the very low JAB rate in this county.
