Every year, climate-change enthusiasts tell us the earth is getting hotter. Phys.org warned the world, “New 'hottest year on record' likely to occur in the next five years.”
C2ES informed readers, “It’s certain: The Earth is getting warmer, and human activity is largely to blame.” Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ headline read, “Broken record: The planet is getting hotter. And hotter. And hotter.”
But are we really observing record hot years consecutively? While global warming is real and has been happening since the end of the Little Ice Age in the 18th century, the claims surrounding unprecedented temperatures are, at best, highly dubious.
Reality and some climate-change claims differ as much as day and night. Here are two examples.
Strange Things: Readjusted Data Points
A few official agencies across the globe that are widely considered “leaders” or “authoritative” in disseminating climate data.
Among them are the Met Office in the UK and top U.S. state agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
However, these agencies have used their near-invincible status to adjust climate data points as they please, often resulting in an exaggerated warming trend.
NASA has been found to have adjusted past temperature data downward in order to make the present temperature levels look comparatively warmer.
In July 2021, geologist Roger Higgs demonstrated how NASA lowered the 2016 data point for annual global mean temperature. NASA carried out the supposed downward shifting of data points so that the temperature levels for 2020 (which were about the same as 2016) would now appear more extreme. Higgs revealed the downward shifting on Researchgate.

Why did this get thrown in there? The article seems to accept it as a given.
Western states are in a persistent drought. North Idaho is hitting the record for days over 90 this summer. The constant forest fire smoke is awful…a clear, blue sky day is a rarity now in summer.
Whatever is going on, it isn’t pretty.
This is the Quaternary (specifically the Holocene part of the Quaternary!) - a geologic time period characterized by cyclic continental glaciations. For the last 20,000 years or so you’ve been enjoying a warming lull. Civilization happened as one of my geology professors would say. So unless the last glaciation was truly the last one, there’s another coming. It’s just a matter of when.

They judge this in the short term. While it fluctuates up and down, in the long term we are going to get colder, much colder. Paleoclimatology is being ignored altogether.
The long term ice core records do not lie. Decrease in solar insolation started about 8,000 years ago and the cause and effect of this is just delayed.
The graph on NOAA’s own site is pretty self explanatory as to what is actually coming. The earth is returning to “normal”. Normal is cold to the tune of 80% of historical reality in the very regular cycle they cannot stop.

There is no "Earth Temperature". All temperature is local... contingent upon time of day, season, cloud cover, humidity, and a host of many other factors.
Take a reading. In the shade of a big oak tree, then take a few steps to into direct sunlight and take another reading. What's the local temperature? The difference will be greater than the chicken little global warming fear number.
Heck, the room your are now in could have differences greater than the global warming number if you take readings at the ceiling, exterior wall, floors, adjacent to appliances. In your kitchen a frying pan on the range can be at 450° F while your living room thermostat reads 72°F.
Heat and cooling engineers have known this for decades...centuries if one takes Roman home construction into account.
And just as with voting, those who count the votes determine the outcome.
Just for giggled get a $20 infra red thermometer and take readings in you home at various points within the volume of the room.
It absolutely still is, see #27. Look at the graph at the link. That very regular long term cycle is very real.

We were taught in Science class we were in a mini ice age.
This summer has been the coolest in years. It’s August and TX has yet to reach triple digits.
The last 44 days for me have been on average 20 degrees Fahrenheit lower than normal. Of the last 44 days, only four of them have had any blue in the sky at all. And that is is South Central New Mexico.
And drought??? Forget about it; of the last 44 days , have had rain on 40 of them. Makes me wish I had built an Ark. In July. my place exceeded the entire yearly historical average of rain and snow. Four of the days with rain, each day exceeded the historical average for the entire month of July Many of the other days each nave had 1/3 to 1/2 of the entire monthly average.
Of course the True Believers and the ones that make money off of global warming fear spreading will claim that all the above is caused by Global Warming.
My observation since this global warming nonsense has started, has been that there isn’t any global warming beyond what the Sun does. For every record high somewhere, there is a record low somewhere else. I call it Global Equilibrium with temporary regional warming or cooling.
I have been pretty much in the same place in the desert southwest for 60 years. It has been cooler overall the last 5 years than ever before.
See #27 and go look at the NOAA graph. Coming slow, but definitely coming as it always has in the regular normal cycle.

Absolutely, each atmospheric cell is a closed loop system just like in an A/C system. While it absorbs heat from one location it then releases that heat on the other end of that closed loop system. And these cells are changing shape, they are getting taller and rounder and less elongated. his is increasing the width of the Cell to cell “mixing zones”. This is the reason and cause for the abnormal events, not global warming.
The global temperatures since the little Ice Age have gone up. The folks back then had thermometers and kept careful records. And they, for the most part anyway, didn’t have an agenda.
Personally thinking, we should go back to the end of the last Full Ice age. But, that would also destroy the AGW narrative
Going back to the 70s or even the 50s is just a quick snapshot of the climate. Not near broad enough overview.

This is a demonstrable lie obvious to anyone who actually has any experience in measuring temperature
The resolution of our measuring technology is on the order of 0.1 deg C. If we have seen a measurable 0.1 deg C every year for 25 years, the cumulative temperature increase on Earth over the last 25 years would be a minimum of 2.5 deg C or just under 5 deg F.
A 5 deg increase in Earth's mean temperature would be dramatic and obvious to everyone
Actually, there has been no significant and provable increase in mean temperature over the normal temperature band of variation over that time period.
All of these claims are propaganda intended to scare.
We have been hearing ominous predictions that we have 5 years until the "climate crisis" destroys the world for over 30 years and it just has not happened.
When Obama was first elected , he had park rangers put up signs on scenic look outs that certain glaciers would be completely gone in 10 years with pictures. That was in 2009. The signs were still up in 2019 and comparison of the glaciers today with the pics from 2008 show that the glaciers have actually advanced and increased in size over the last 10 years instead of being completely melted.
An embarrassed Park Service quietly removed the signs.
After decades of false prediction that are proven false, how anyone actually believes the garbage prediction and fear mongering at this point is beyond me
