They will blame Trump in 1,2,3.....
Unlike the government, normal people cannot afford to perpetually vomit money
Millions face eviction huh? GOOD! GTF OUT! Where there are millions not paying there are 100’s of thousands going broke.m And thousands more being foreclosed on.
Housing costs in ohio are not high at all.
At one point in my life, I was six months behind in my rent.
Guess what...I managed to catch up.
What were those people doing all that time while getting free rent. Not earning anything??
The conversations I have had with other landlords with tenants not paying, its intentional. There is so much help out there for tenants, the only ones not paying are dirtbags and they are intentionally not paying. With 20 years of this under our belts, we can say, background checks, former landlord calls, credit checks, references all pay off in having successful tenants. If the pandemic happened 20 years ago, when we were new at this, had a mortgage and all our tenants were dirtbags, we would have lost our apartments.
Go get a job and pay your rent/mortgage.
So who pays the rental owners mortgage payments?
Read about a homeowner on another site who had to tolerate two freeloaders in his rental cottage - who decided not to pay the rent or utilities for over a year (government sanctioned) - all the while buying a new car, new 80” TV, gaming system and other stuff.
A lot of these folks were receiving government money to sit at home and not work. My niece made more at home than she did at her job.
Let the evictions begin. Time to pay the piper.
The obvious solution is a federal takeover of rental housing units to save both landlords and renters alike. The next logical step from the path of free healthcare, free phones, free daycare, free education, free transportation, free basic income, free utilities, and now the ultimate vote buying scheme.......Free housing (if you can prove your vote loyalty)
Those of us in The Heartland more than likely kept our acts together during Covid and won’t be losing our homes.
Can’t wait to see the problems this causes on the East and West coasts.
My heart goes out to those PATRIOTS in-between that got caught up in this. Of course, we won’t hear any of THEIR stories - just a lot of sobbing pablum about single moms and their children out in the street.
And, Biden won’t get the blame - President Trump will!
It’s not just renters. There was also a moratorium on foreclosure evictions which ends today.

With very few exceptions, anyone not even paying their rent is a crooked scammer ripping off the owner just because the politicians say he can get away with it. And there are tons of jobs on offer for people too- the scammers just want to sit at home and watch Oprey reruns. And they enjoy at least eight “no questions asked, just come and get it” free grocery giveaway places too. No rent cost. No food cost. No transport cost too as they csm pick up free vouchers for gas and car expenses. Incidentally, there are about 200 cars at one of the free grocery giveaway places. Every tingle last one of which is a nice new car. Almost all Japanese cars too and a few are extra expensive models like Lexii and yes, one big strong guy was trying to stuff all his free food into his little Porsche. Not a single old or junky car in the entire lot.
If there are any people who really are disabled such that they can’t work, I’m all for helping them. I’m fine with that. But for the most part these are all able- bodied grifters now — just ripping off “the system” because the politicians tell them they can get away with it.
This is not the way to build strong character or strong citizens ( yes, free free free applies to illegal aliens too - no questions asked). Nor is it any way to build a strong country.
Let’s help the small number who really need it and tell the lazy bums to go get jobs
My suggestion is that any landlord who can’t evict a renter for failure to pay the rent should be absolved of any property tax payments up to the amount of loss. Why have to pay for government that harms you? This is the same as taking your property and being forced to quarter the King’s troops without compensation.
I agree. Start by shipping all those illegals back to where they came from…
Another manufactured “crisis” that won’t be let go to waste.
The government has no right to invalidate the terms of a valid contract. Nothing else matters. The government has illegally forced land owners to provide a place to live without compensation. This is illegal. The government’s order was invalid, illegal and unconstitutional.
The key to it all are the signs we’ve seen demanding free housing. “Housing is a right (we demand it and you have to give it to us)”. The extreme left wants housing to be “free”. It also wants food, phones, cars, TV, crack; all free. In other words, lazy slobs getting things free. At least the Soviet Union valued work. If you worked hard you were respected. Many things wrong with it, but not that.
One day the government will be assigning people homes. Of course they will confiscate from people are what they consider “too old”.
“...but a lot of people may be impacted.”
Impacted yes. Evicted, not sure on that. It’s not easy to evict someone to begin with. Laws in place are very protective of the tenant. And it can take a long time to achieve the goal of controlling and protecting your property because the government doesn’t allow you to have your property. If it was up to them, it would be their property and you’d be the tenant. Funny thing, in many ways, it already falls that way.
Don’t you pay taxes every year so they can pay someone to gather them and use them for their purposes while hiding that under the term “improvements.” (While they get their cut) And they continue to make laws not to help you, but to help themselves. They imprisoned Bernard Madoff and he died under the key. Please display the difference in him and the feds or state governments. Not too many of them.

Seems Nabzi Pelousey has it covered with her telling the CDC to renew their edict for a moratorium on evictions. Still trying to figure how an agency like CDC can order all landlords and mortgage holders to not file evictions and the state courts not allowing a legal civil filing for contract relief in the courts. Remarkable the power seemingly wielded by a sub agency of the HHS dept. of the gubbmint. Heck don’t need the legislative branch at all, let the CDC do it.
