Conservatives Shocked Without Proof About Jan. 6 Are Naive and Inviting Manipulation.
Across my street in a poorly lit space, I watched a nearly invisible, shadowy figure, suddenly disappear into complete darkness. (It's something that shouldn't be going on when people who live here are behaving honestly.)
If I don't really want to know what's going on, I can use the image of "nothing there" as an excuse to turn away, close the door, and pretend that everything is just fine.
The shadow in the Jan. 6 picture is that, if Conservatives can be counted on to be shocked by the transparently arranged picture of what happened, they should at least demand that professional liars in the Govt. and the news media give up the claimed, large number of videos showing election fraud protesters' misbehavior.
Instead, the Govt. is withholding 10,000s hours of video, that should be evenly evaluated by an impartial authority, showing the bad, and also the good. And we're pretending the worst civil injustice against the arrestees isn't happening.
The invisible man in the shadows of Jan. 6, is that Antifa/BLM infiltrated the crowds and provoked civil misbehavior with the cooperation of the deep state elements in Federal law enforcement. (If they had been clever about it, there should be cherry picked videos to support the lie.) There WAS a conspiracy…woven by a political left that has immunity from prosecution. So the Govt. can pretend it was a rightist putsch.
Conservatives are going along with this because they have too refined a sense of civil order, delicacy out of place when the opposition is totally ruthless and will do anything to get its way.
"Truth without love is harshness", it is true. We can't become like them, or our differences will disappear and they will win, we will have actually joined them.
But "Love without truth is sentimentality." We have erred to the direction of a false decency, against the Cardinal, the "hinge" Virtue of Fortitude, the virtue that allows us to overcome fear and to remain steady in our will in the face of all obstacles, physical and spiritual.
We have become so nice, that we have lost our nerve. We are giving up on the strength necessary to resist evil to the point of ourselves suffering harm.
We have ducked out of harm's way. We are going along with our own bullying.
They just have to walk in from Mexico and Biden will fly them anywhere for free.

I consider it more of a "soft" coup than an insurrection, but I doubt our opinions differ by much.

The FBI says that Antifa doesn’t really exist, is just an idea.
