Why do so many Americans resist being vaccinated against COVID? Or is that what they are actually resisting?
When I was a child, I was vaccinated against a number of deadly diseases. As an adult, I had my own child vaccinated. On the whole, vaccinations have saved countless lives and prevented epidemics that would otherwise have ravaged our nation and others.
Yet today, with a pandemic that has gripped the entire world with fears of a plague of (what they call) biblical proportions, there is more resistance to vaccination than ever before. In reaction, there are calls for "vaccine mandates," which would effectively force injections upon the population in vast numbers. Why do so many people adamantly refuse to "take the shot"?
There is a reason. Millions of Americans no longer trust their government. The political left dismisses this distrust with its usual accusations of conservative ignorance, extremism, and racism, but those words, overused for many years, no longer coerce most Americans.
I know people who took the vaccine because their personal physicians, whom they trust, recommended it. They were hesitant to accept that advice, but because of additional factors such as advanced age and complicated health issues, they finally gave in, fearing that for them, an infection might mean a death sentence.
However, when a bureaucrat demands that you be injected with a substance hidden behind walls of government censorship and secrecy, those with low risk factors are correct to be suspicious. When that distrusted government starts making threats, it only further increases the suspicion.

Federally mandated vaccination is a gross abuse of individual liberty. The safety bandwagon is stuffed with a good many proud, smart lemmings.

Speaks to many of those “trust in government” issues. There is no transparency about the side effects and there is no robust scientific debate, in fact debate is completely shut down by Big Government, Big Media, and Big Tech.
Rand Paul is showing in the US Senate an obstinate, lying Fauci debating what the meaning of “is”, is, and directly involved with the China lab where this virus came from.
The virus and “vaccine” come from the same person.
No sane person would want either, and people should be calling for the heads of those who have already inflicted the world with one.
No one should be trusting anything in the “press” or media anymore, either. At some point, we have to do more than simply dismiss them.
Good article. Read it in full which I often don’t bother to do. Yes, the long term effects are unknown. Yes, it was a bio-engineered (is that the right word?) virus. NOT a natural occurring one. Therefore, who knows what unforeseen effects the shot will have on our bodies? I will not be finding out as I will never get the shot myself. My body, my choice, correct? Isn’t that the mantra of the leftist elite?
It is gene therapy. (or poison)
It’s because it’s not a vaccine it’s an experimental gene therapy for a disease that has an extremely high survivability except those with multiple comorbidites.
Not to mention personal choice.
Vaccine is a defined term in law and under CDC and FDA standards. A vaccine has to stimulate an immunity in the person receiving it. And it must also disrupt transmission. That’s not what this is. Even the drug manufacturers admit the jab or its mRNA does not stop transmission.
The jab is a treatment, but if it’s discussed as a treatment it would not get the sympathetic ear of public health officials because people would ask what other treatments there are. And alternative treatments would hamper FDA’s ability to issue emergency approval of the jabs.
Defining the narrative with the term vaccine is a sucker punch to open and free discourse. “Vaccine” throws the discussion into one of pro/con vaccine. The jab is a mechanical device in the form of a very small packet of technology inserted intoe the human system to activate the cell to become a pathogenetic spike protein manufacturing site.
No basis exists to stipulate this is a vaccine. Simply put, this is a chemical pathogen device meant to unleash chemical pathogen production within a cell. It’s a medical device, not a drug. The jab is not a living or biologic system, but rather a physical technology that just happens to come in the size of a molecular package.
Covid was created for the shot. The shot was not created for Covid.
As soon as our government pays off our 28 trillion debt..and deports the 20-40 million illegals ...and arrest all rioters...and stops installing illegitimate presidents...
then,and only then,will i get the shot.

why should we trust anything our government officials recommend to stop the spread of a virus while they’re spreading thousands of disease carrying invaders across our country during a so called “global pandemic”?...
The pandemic is not a pandemic. The disease, to be blunt, is not that bad, we’re not talking about something like ebola which is also highly contagious. The disease, from a ChiCom illegal bio-weapons lab funded by Fauci and company, does not warrant taking an experimental gene therapy. The disease does not warrant shutting the economy down and everyone going into quarantine. It does warrant identifying effective therapeutics and for vulnerable people to be careful.
Common sense.
The US .gov has done nothing to punish the people responsible for developing this virus. Their real enemy are those who resist the totalitarian desires of the left.
