A man washed ashore in a cylindrical floating contraption on Saturday after attempting to float all the way to New York. He was not injured.
The man told officials he came back to shore after having problems with his vessel.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reported that the man left St. Augustine in the vessel with the goal of reaching New York.

He was probably thinking that it worked just fine on the test runs in the kiddie pool. Remember this is Florida Man we’re talking about.
There have been many lawn chair guys. Some have fared better than others as in not gone splat or hit high tension lines or floated out over the ocean never to be seen again. Apparently it is one of those Darwinian inspirations that happen. I guess it sorts out the real engineers from the rest. I love the guy that took a BB gun for altitude control. A real man of science.
The one in LA survived. A helicopter rescued him.

He wanted to arrive with clean laundry. Thing looks like a front loader.
Lawnchair Larry landed successfully, and was immediately arrested. He paid a fine of $1,500. He never managed to capitalize on the publicity of his stunt and committed suicide at age 44.
Never before has there been a more charitable application of the word ‘vessel.’
I had no idea how that story ended. But, if you had asked me how that story would eventually end, that’s close to what I would have had.
I don’t see any space for provisions. Does he know humans can’t drink seawater?
