You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Solve it in
4 minutes is good
3 minutes excellent
2 minutes superior
90 seconds amazing

All my go to problem solving tools failed.
Then, I figured out word 8.
Filled in the blanks to the end
Your hint of solving word 8 got me going. Thanks

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

Today's author was one who loved life.
I got the common letter and the third word, and then eighth word with the double letters, and the word after that, and then was able to complete the puzzle from left to right.

I got started by correctly guessing that word 3 was one of two likelihoods - then words 8 and 9 - then slowly puzzled out the rest without using Hal’s Helper.
I’m still curious to know how many people do these in their heads - and how much longer it takes.
I can certainly do it much faster using the Helper, but I prefer the challenge and satisfaction of dong it entirely in my head.
I was about to say, one of my favorite pianists (along with Horowitz).
Between 90 sec and 2 min.
Most common letter; 3rd word, 4th word by grammer, 1st and 2nd words, off to the races.
Common letter for me gave third word then it kind of flowed after that
