I think many posters don't realize that people like to know what and where the article is talking about, so they just do not think about that. Perhaps they didn't really think about it, because they knew, so it never occurred to them. I mean the possibilities are many. 🙂
But yes, I agree the poster should identify the location of the event being talked about in an article.
