The debate over masks is heating up again, with increasing calls for all Americans, regardless of coronavirus vaccination status, to return to wearing face coverings in indoor public places to help thwart the spread of the highly contagious delta variant. But some experts say the recommendations should specify the kind of masks people should be using.

Subscribe today. “Delta is so contagious that when we talk about masks, I don’t think we should just talk about masks,” Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, said during a recent appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “I think we should be talking about high-quality masks,” such as N95 respirators.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Monica Gandhi, a professor of medicine and an infectious-disease expert at the University of California at San Francisco, expressed a similar sentiment: “We can’t say we’re going back to masks without discussing type of mask.”

I’m sure these “some experts” know that the N95 masks are only designed to filter out inhaled particulates, not exhaled particulates, which makes them less useful than even cloth masks for keeping someone who is already sick from spreading the virus if it’s airborne.

Hey! I’ve got an idea…why not get immunity either through vaccination or naturally through exposure to the virus if you don’t have an immunodeficiency?
I know my family members have all obtained immunity. My wife and I through vaccination and our kids split between through vaccination or naturally. We are long since wearied of lockdowns, restrictions and repetitive mandatory testing.

Inquiring minds want to know. The CCPvirus is a bio-weapon, funded by our government through Fauci, created in China for China by China. What is not known is, was the release on purpose or accidental. Second unknown, are these variants planned releases or natural mutations of the CCPvirus once in the wild. Frankly, they seem planned as the Delta variant, if it really is a variant and exists, is purported to be worse than the original. My, albeit limited, understanding is nature typically evolves weaker not stronger variants.

I managed to get through this whole thing without being tested once!
And I only wore a mask when I walked into a store.
One of the heights of silliness was being told by my own wife that I had to put my mask on to enter a casual restaurant even though our table was right next to the door. My mask would have been on for about 1.5 seconds. I pointed out the stupidity of trying to stop the spread of a disease with a mask on for 1.5 seconds while we were going to be seated in the same location for the next 3,600 seconds. Fortunately she saw my point and dropped it.

Even if you triple layer them? LOL! In nevaDUH the signs read “face covering” so for nearly the entire duration we used plastic shields that clipped to our glasses frames. They only place that wasn’t accepted was at medical facilities.
For decades, those of us who worked in fields that used N95 masks have called them Dust Masks and that's been their only purpose and the only thing they were certified by OSHA for. Particles and dust. They only got 'approved' for a virus last year. I have to wear the type of N95 masks that have a silicone rubber face frame with two filter cartridges. The all fiber ones don't fit my narrow face well and I could see stripes where dark colored dust was getting by. The stripes lead right to my nostrils of course. If sanding dust will go right around an ill fitting mask, anything else airborne will too. BTW, since some people want everyone 2 years old and up to wear them, where do we buy N95 masks in a toddler size?
