TOKYO — The Latest on the Tokyo Olympics, which are taking place under heavy restrictions after a year’s delay because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The very first match of the Olympic beach volleyball tournament has been canceled because a Czech player tested positive for COVID-19.

Markéta Sluková tested positive earlier this week, knocking her and partner Barbora Hermannova out of the Tokyo Games.

The Czechs were supposed to be playing a team from the host country that would have been making its Olympic debut. Instead, the Japanese pair of Megumi Murakami and Miki Ishii earned the victory by default.

Sluková is one of at least three members of the Czech team who have tested positive since their arrival in Japan, including men’s beach volleyball player Ondřej Perušič.

The team has said it’s investigating if the outbreak of COVID-19 is linked to its charter flight to Tokyo.

Wonder if they're using a saliva test...

Meanwhile, speaking of testing, and from the CDC a few days ago...

“I believe the only people who enjoy watching beach volleyball are men, young and old, who like to see almost naked women. “

You say that like it’s a bad thing...

Incorrect. Death rates are death rates. And death rates are what everyone is orgasming over.

In addition, Ebola was certainly not “restricted to a few localized hotspots in Africa” a few years ago.

So are gunshots, heart attacks, massive strokes, drug overdoses, pancreatic cancer, car accidents, etc., etc., etc.

Most certainly, I have deep sympathies over the loss of your friends. I’m not a heartless monster. But society’s hysteria over a virus with such an extremely high survival rate, and the general public’s abject acquiescence to any and all totalitarian restrictions (none of which are proven to work and most of which are proven to NOT work), is ridiculous.

So when one team forfeits because of COVID, do the players on both teams not get paid for that game, or is that just an NFL rule?

You seem to have forgotten your elementary stoichiometry from high school chemistry.

I did not take your posts as not having sympathy. It is discussion. Good discussion. It is shocking, though, how quickly they passed. Both were really healthy people, physically fit. Then gone. I’m taking it seriously.

Yes, Ebola was restricted to a few localized hotspots in Africa, and to health workers whom were working with those patients. I guess you weren’t following the news.

https://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/history/chronology.html

All outbreaks were in Africa, where the Ebola reservoirs are, with the exception of accidental lab releases or infections incurred while treating or transferring patients. Ebola-Reston doesn’t count, as that doesn’t infect humans. Prove me wrong on anything I’ve said.

Dr. Thomas E Levy is a board-certified cardiologist........ Do you know where he lives and practices medicine?

Thanks for the ping. I went to his website and am reading this — https://www.peakenergy.com/health_ebytes/issue_9.php — His essay on vitamin C.

I take a half teaspoon of magnesium ascorbate daily. Now I am going to read what he has to say about this form of vitamin C.

I also take a half teaspoon of magnesium ascorbate daily. As the saying goes, “Great minds think alike.”

Dr. Levy also wrote a book called “Death by Calcium”, so if you were taking calcium ascorbate I’m sure he would tell you to stop. But most of us are deficient in magnesium, so unless you you are overwhelming your body with magnesium supplements, a little bit more is good for you.

The only better form of oral vitamin C than magnesium ascorbate is Livon Labs lipo-spheric vitamin C. Dr. Levy is their consultant, and he estimates it is at least 5 times more effective than intravenous vitamin C. I always keep a box on my shelf, and when the pandemic started I bought 10 boxes. I didn’t know about nebulized peroxide in March 2020. You can of course shop around to try to get a better price on this expensive vitamin C https://www.livonlabs.com/products/vitamin-c/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwl_SHBhCQARIsAFIFRVVGv0oiIr5429wNEBtGKRtBzmaQIsML3z2_a4LSIlenfp5G_mXy0D8aAsX8EALw_wcB Based on my experience a single dose of Livon Labs C may be enough to resolve a minor viral infection, such as a stomach flu.

I must correct this. I take a half teaspoon of NOW FOODS magnesium ascorbate (8oz powder) twice per day. At the same time I down a level teaspoon of this superior type MSM >>> https://tinyurl.com/8n7yz87h
_______

“The only better form of oral vitamin C than magnesium ascorbate is Livon Labs lipo-spheric vitamin C. Dr. Levy is their consultant, and he estimates it is at least 5 times more effective than intravenous vitamin C.”

I have bought this C. It is very effective. But half its magic is that it is a slow release Vitamin C. So if very ill you take 5 daily and you are saturated with C all day long. If one is disciplined enough to take small doses of sodium ascorbate or magnesium ascorbate all day then you are getting close to lipo-spheric effectiveness.

In my refrigerator I have 3x 8oz of Mag Ascorbate and Sodium ascorbate. Both from Now Foods found at VitaCost, Amazon and so on.
_______________

https://tinyurl.com/ewkratzy Famous peacenik Linus Pauling... He was taking sodium ascorbate and lived to 92 or so
