As of July 22, I count 25 Civil War engagements resulting in over 7,000 total casualties of which 2/3 came from the July 21 Battle of Bull Run/Manassas.

On July 22, 1861 there was a minor engagement at Forsyth, Missouri, south of Springfield, near the Arkansas line, Union victory.

  1. In Virginia Confederates won 6 engagements, lost none.
  2. In West Virginia, the Union won 6, lost one.
  3. In Missouri, each side won three engagements.
