Earlier this month several women from the US soccer team turned away from the US flag as 98-year-old WWII veteran Pete DuPré played the national anthem on a harmonica.
The US women’s soccer team was playing an exhibition game against Mexico in East Hartford, Connecticut in a pre-Olympic sendoff game before heading to Japan.
The video is included for all to see.

On Wednesday Sweden stunned the US Womens Soccer Team with a 3-0 victory in the women’s soccer tournament. They’re out.
The US women’s team was just bounced from the Olympics. Via The AP:
The Americans, ranked No. 1 in the world and the favorites to win gold in Tokyo, were riding a 44-match unbeaten streak heading into the match. But Sweden, ranked No. 5, has been the U.S. team’s nemesis of sorts in recent years. The Swedes bounced the Americans from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games in the quarterfinals, the earliest U.S. Olympic exit ever, by making a defensive stand.
This April, Sweden played the United States to a 1-1 draw in Stockholm, which snapped a winning streak dating back to January 2019 when the Americans lost to France in the run-up to the World Cup. It was the U.S. team’s only draw this year.

The article is wrong. They’ve not been eliminated, this is just the group stage. But if they lose to NZ or AUS they will likely be eliminated before the knockout round. Personally I hope they don’t score a goal and do get eliminated.
Typical media; it was an “upset” because we decided they would win the gold. Wokeness is a softener, but, yeah, let’s shell out more dough for these losers so they can pretend they’re as good as men’s teams.
We should have sent the fourteen-year-old boys team that crushed our national women’s team.
Is there an Olympics going on?
Will they demand to paid more?
Any comments from ME-gun Wrappin’ho the pink haired Subway spokesperson and team captain ? Why yes there was:
“There’s no time to dwell and think about if Sweden is living in our heads or not. We’ve got another game in three days.”
Rapinoe, who came on in the 64th minute with the score 2-0, added: “Did we expect this result tonight? No.
“It’s frustrating, and it’s frustrating that it’s Sweden. They found a lot of space on us. I don’t even know how many goals we have given up this whole year. I don’t remember the last time we gave up a goal. So to give up three is not great.”
Got their butts kicked by the swedish bikini team eh?
Um can you read and understand English? You obviously can't.
Is this the team with the loud mouth chick with pink or purple hair?
They will be playing Australia and New Zeeland also in the group stage. Two first teams in each group are directly qualified and the two best (out of three) third placed teams will qualify for the quarter finals.
What a wonderful story to start my day! I’ll hold the champagne until they’re actually eliminated, but this will do for now.
We’ve spent a fortune on women’s soccer but focused on politics to drive the team. The rest of the world focuses on soccer and you’re seeing the results now.
Our men are equally as pitiful for the same reasons.
They got licked by their opponents.
Unfortunately the report is wrong, they’re not “bounced” from the tournament. They have 2 more games to play in the first round, they can still advance if they win these next 2.
Really, then why don’t you show me what I’m missing here.
Obviously, if the Dallas U-15 team would only self identify properly, the Olympic gold would have been a slam dunk.
Can someone help this poor lost soul find his way back to his thread?
“At once point they say it’s a exhibition match but later they say the loss bounced them from the Olympics. Maybe “exhibition” means something different when it comes to Olympic soccer.”
The exhibition game was where they turned their backs. This game was the first loss. They play next on 7/24.
It’s pool play
I get the feeling though, once they saw the empty stadium, and the fact they know that they have so little support back home, most of them probably just decided they really don’t want to be there.
Frankly, I don’t see the point of going on with the Olympics anyway.
