.....the article is written by a moron. Most soccer tournaments, as is here in the Olympics, are not single elimination, but round robins, two losses out of three and the team is gone. A tie will count as a loss if another team has a better winning record in the qualifying rounds. IIRC, if this team loses another game, they will be out. If they tie, they play again until they lose.

And i could be a totally incorrect soccer dad here. This demonstrates how poorly written the article was to begin with. And a point that we can all agree upon, is that “these GIRLS failed to score a goal.”
