I am confused - wasn’t Branson the first non-govt. human flight?

This is the first time Blue Origin will carry humans.

The big thing BO is touting is that this flight will go above the “internationally recognized” Karman Line, the invisible line that separates the top of the atmosphere and space. Branson didn’t go that high.

Is the International line is at 62 miles. The American line is 50 miles. I’ve never been able to figure out the disparity.
