The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days.  If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

2nd and 4th words by grammar, letter pattern.
A couple of wrong guesses, then the 1st word gives the 2nd.
Then it flows quickly.

A challenging puzzle. It took me about 30 minutes. Working the double letters, I finally figured out the first name of the author, and that let me work out the two and three letter words.
