Hypocritical Psaki leads chilling effort to flag 'misinformation'
The Hill ^ | 7/18/21 | BY JOE CONCHA

Posted on 07/18/2021 10:31:20 AM PDT by conservative98

"We're flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation. We're working with doctors and medical experts…who are popular with their audience with accurate information. So, we're helping get trusted content out there."

That's White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki brazenly saying the quiet part out loud regarding the U.S. government colluding with a private company in deciding what constitutes misinformation and what doesn’t.

Talk about a slippery slope. This is akin to luge racing at the Olympics, except this luge has no breaks. Because if the White House can define what is misinformation and what isn't, and do so with Facebook, which clearly served at the pleasure of the Biden campaign in 2020, what’s to stop the White House from recommending censorship of certain stories?

To buy Psaki's argument, one also has to believe that:

(A) Facebook isn’t biased (it is)

(B) Facebook is acting in good faith (it's not)

(C) Facebook’s faceless fact-checking unit has an exemplary track record (it does not)

Because remember: Until about one month ago, Facebook censored posts about COVID possibly originating in a lab in Wuhan, China. Many in the media and in the Democratic Party called it a reckless conspiracy theory. Now suddenly it’s a real possibility, as even some Democrats are conceding.

We're working with doctors and medical experts

Was it the same ones who were banned or censored early on during the "pandemic" when they talked about HCQ and other natural remedies and advocated against masks, lockdowns, and social distancing?

To trust that the government is getting "trusted content out there," you would have to trust the government. Let's see how that's been going...

I'd trust a used car salesman before I'd trust anything the government says.

Jen Psaki Banned From Social Media For Spreading Misinformation (babylon bee)

babylonbee.com ^ | 7/17/2021 | STAFF
Posted on 7/18/2021, 10:35:32 AM by bitt

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Biden administration has decided to crack down hard on those who spread covid misinformation on social media. Because of this, Press Secretary Jen Psaki has been promptly and permanently removed from all social media platforms.

“We take this ban very seriously,” a Biden official said. “Ol’ Jen had an enormous reach online, and our system received so many notifications of misinformation by her that she was automatically removed.”

Psaki now has a lifetime ban on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TiKTok, and even lower traffic sites such as AOL Instant Messenger. The social media ban is as thorough as it is severe in hopes of teaching others a lesson about spreading misinformation.

Many people were surprised to see the government ban the press secretary, but it seems that even they were fooled by the onslaught of misinformation. They just regret that they didn’t see it and ban her sooner.

“Our algorithms confirmed that Jen Psaki spreads more misinformation in one press conference than most other people do in their entire lives,” said Mark Zuckerberg after he confirmed Facebook would permanently be removing her from the social network. “We expected it to just get far-right QAnon crazies, but the algorithm doesn’t lie. All hail the algorithm!”

“All hail the algorithm!” chanted his army of Facebook interns standing dutifully nearby.

Back to Psaki, who also shockingly argued this week that if a person is banned from one social media platform, he or she should be banned across *all* social media platforms.

“Freedom of speech and association issues”

It can go from simple to more complex problems. A very important part of the federal government’s work is the free flow of interstate commerce. By creating an opinionate based investigation of anything that is moved from point to point while withholding pertinent information thus retarding the movement of goods, they are violating their powers determined by the Supreme Court.

And anything that is so broad based as what they are saying they are going to do is not going to be workable as the determination of the importance of what would be challenged, and in what manner, it will open them up to libel, slander, and destruction of property lawsuits that would increase the national debt.

And besides that, it places law makers in a position to take advantage of property and stocks thus creating an appearance to conflict of interest. It’s just one of those slippery slopes they are creating for themselves using public money.
