“Football” is pandering. Football is pathetic. Football will say or do anything to chase down the very last potential viewer/customer.
The National Football League (NFL) recently joined virtually every other American institution in lauding -- and marketing to — the LGBTQ Community during Pride Month in June. It did so by releasing a new 30-second commercial proudly proclaiming that “football is gay, lesbian, queer, transgender, bisexual and exciting.”
The ad begins by stating “football is gay” to the sound of drums rolling and people cheering. (I’m not sure what Dick Butkus would have to say about this advertisement, but I digress.)

The ad is in part a direct response to Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive end Carl Nassib’s recent announcement that he was gay, a league spokesperson said. It is titled, “Football is for everyone,” and is intended to “send a strong message of acceptance from the league to fans and players,” reports Outsports. What will the league look like a few years from now?

They have already killed their brand. Now they are trying to find new fans who traditionally don’t watch and don’t care about the sport. They are desperate. I guess we will see what stops MLB will have to pull out in order to get people to watch the Series.
It is not known whether you played competitive sports in your young and free days. I did into my late 20s.
One of the allures of pro sports was watching the best of the best play the game. I befriended a minor league pitcher after he was long retired, in his 50s. He never made it to MLB. I asked him to “get in position” as if he were going to peg a runner off first. He did, and despite the age effect, I could see this guy had something that no “average player” had that I had played with in scrub-no- count ball leagues.
Rule changes have ruined some great sports, like basketball has been dead for years... many of today’s guys couldn’t touch the shoe strings of Nate Archibald, Wes Unseld, Willis Reed, and so many more. Coaches like John Wooden no longer exist. Wokeness is the final nail in coffin. Billy Martin would be sold down the river in a nanosecond. When NFL decided to align itself with kneeling at the national anthem, I am done. I am done with it all. The business of professional sports has destroyed sports in America, like many other companies are destroying their brands.
If you watched the Puppy Bowl this year, you would have subjected to Dr. Jill bantering in front her 2 vicious German shepherds.
“I just adore men in uniform.”
“I’d love to be the quaterback behind him!”

Football is “gay” because its former fans are not. Makes total sense.

If American pro sports wants to thrive once again, here’s a simple clue, just play the game and stfu about politics!
Showing that the financial analysts for the NFL already knew they were targeting an aging viewer base and could no longer attract a younger audience. Their marketing campaigns since then include every "woke" nonsense they can find in attempt to get a bounce out of a dead cat.
Those who understand the decline of televised boxing know that televised football is rapidly approaching the same irrelevance.
I used to see NFL team hats, shirts, jackets, flags, blankets, towels, car stickers etc., EVERYWHERE. Almost a decade ago it started where if I saw one or two NFL items a year, they were worn by a tourist.
I don't know how we can overcome this when the institutions in question are hellbent on aiding the left in their destruction. Now, of course, it's easy to dismiss this as just being sports and we can live without sports, but it really extends in every direction.
Many of us have known that football was gay for a long time.
A sport where each play starts with one man’s hands underneath another man’s ass.
Football is... DONE.
