French retailers puzzle over how to keep non-vaccinated shoppers from stores

Wednesday, retailers said that a widening of COVID health pass requirements announced by President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday was difficult to implement.

In a bid to slow down the spread of the virus, Macron said a health pass would be required from July 21 to enter places of leisure and culture and that from early August it would be required in bars and restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals as well as in planes and long-distance trains and buses.

A health pass would have to show double vaccination against COVID-19, recovery from the illness or a recent negative test.

The government did not want to make vaccination mandatory for all and puts the onus on private companies," retail federation FCD chief Jacques Creyssel said on C-News TV.

He said it was hard to imagine how anyone could stop a customer who needed to buy food or medicines.

Don’t bathe, that will keep shoppers out.

Seriously though, what retailer would try to prevent pop.efro buying their products?

The stasi is strong with the French right now it seems. Now even the citizens evidently are pining for vaccine passes?and mandatory vaccines?

I go to stores all the time, no masks, no passport required and no hassle and nobody pays any attention to it anymore. And the stores are in general full of product. Only time I see masks are in doctor's offices and hospitals.

French? No further comment.

If the can’t figure out a method, then the govt will need to close the venue until they do. Except the moose limbs of course. Religious grounds or something.

I think the initial plan was laid out in the 1930's. We can update it to fit today's needs:

“hospitals”

So hospitals are going to refuse entry to injured and critically ill people who lack passes, and let them die in the street? That will go over well.

Of course, if you don’t like it, you can leave, but not by plane, train or bus. At least it’s not mandatory there.

It is oddly satisfying to enter unmasked in a business with a sign that states “unvaccinated must wear a mask” knowing they can’t do a damn thing.

Today’s Walmart visit (N CT) was really strange.

My mask rule is “In Rome do as the Romans do”. I don’t give a (*&^ about anyone’s opinion, I just wanna get my shopping done with minimum hassle.

Parking lot—nobody has on a mask—so I pocket my mask.

Inside store—nobody has on a mask....

Then I get to the self-checkout register. The employees and customers have masks. So I put on the mask.

Strange days....

Just have to laugh and enjoy them.

Yep.

So happy to NOT be spending my dollars in French shops/boutiques.

I guess Macaroon thinks their economy is just fine....without money from the non-jabbed.

“Let them be guillotined”
Sounds like something the French would suggest.
