Tuesday’s telecast delivered 8.24 million viewers, about 100,000 more than the 2019 game’s 8.14 million. (Last year’s All-Star Game was canceled due to the pandemic.) It’s also worth noting that the Nielsen figures for Tuesday include out of home viewing and 2019’s do not. Still, the audience for the All-Star Game is in keeping with both improved ratings for baseball this season — including Monday’s Home Run Derby on ESPN — and a general uptick for sports following last year’s pandemic-snarled calendar.

This year there were probably at least 100,000 more bar/restaurants open that weren’t last year. Doesn’t translate to interested viewers...including me.
My household is a part of the leading ratings survey group. No one in our household tuned in to the game last night.
I know why they moved it.
8 million viewers huh?
When England played Italy in the Euro 2020 soccer finals over the weekend, 27 million people in England watched it on TV.
And England has got a population of under 70 million
I missed it again!
I remember when the All-Star Game was a big deal. Then there were two of them; and it wasn’t such a big deal anymore.

There was a time when I loved baseball, and Never Never NEVER missed the All-Star game.
I wasn’t even aware that there was one this year. I knew in the back of my mind that they have them every year. I forgot about baseball. Sports? Missing from my giveacare portfolio for 3 years.
8.24 million SUCKERS, give or take.
The uniforms were ridiculous. Looked like pajamas.
I think they had common uniforms for AL and NL with only the team logo different. I remember some of the 70s all star games with each player wearing his own team’s gaudy uniform... except for the Reds with either white or gray polyester with barely any adornments.
Never showed up on my TV.
And the red “exclamation mark” is NYY printed vertically. Each team had its abbreviation printed with the logo.
Yep. Back then all you could get is a hog dog and cracker jack at the ballgame. Now they offer far more things at the stadium but it costs you way more. So they're adding more things to try to get fans to come back.
Everyone hates MLB's 'grotesque' All-Star uniforms - New York Post
10 hours ago — “MLB should just let the players wear their own uniforms instead of these slow pitch softball ones,” Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brett Anderson posted on Twitter
has even one player denounced the woke move to Denver? I imagine quite a few of them did not like the MLB action to move the game, but didn’t have the cajones to speak up.
From ATL, 51% Black to Denver 71% White.
I still have to laugh at how gullible GA was to let that happen.
Did anyone win? Or did everyone just get a trophy?
In grade school, when the series was played during the day, we would sneak transistor radios to class, and run the earplug wire up our sleeves.
Never heard of it.
😴
What do you mean? How did Georgia let it happen? Baseball commissioner made the decision to move the game, not Georgia officials.
Were Georgia officials like Warnock and Ossoff complaining about the economic losses? It’s like Stacy Abrams approved.
