The cruelty of the Taliban ... Minutes after surrendering, Afghan soldiers were sprayed and killed in cold blood by Taliban fire.

They lost.
Lesson: Don’t lose.
What, no social workers there to speak to the Taliban about their feelings? Wow.
Geneva? Where is that?
We never picked up arms.
It’s too late to dust off and nuke the site from orbit, right?
5.56mm
Who was leading the soldiers....Mitch and Lindsay?
They would have done the same if the tables were turned. In a nutshell this is why this part of the world will remain a shythole forever. Forgiveness is not in their nature. They are killers by choice and it gives them pleasure.
Did the Taliban take a coupe of the heads to play polo with? It’s the national sport there.
That’s a fact, not exaggeration or hyperbole.
The Japanese usually faked surrender. They’d have a grenade behind their back to take one more Marine with them. They’d hide behind women and open fire, knowing that Marines were reluctant to shoot women. The Marines and the Army learned that the hard way.
The Japanese were the absolute worst. Their brutality put today’s Isis and the Taliban and such to shame.
No doubt stories like what the Taliban did will get out and the conflicts will be bloodier because then other solders won’t give up so easily. The taliban that did this were idiots.
That’s why so many Jap soldiers refused to give up...they feared they would just be butchered anyway just like people like your uncle proved what would happen. At least a military tribunal with executions warranted for some would have given some cover. Your uncle should have been prosecuted.
A friend of the family was in the Italian campaign in WW II. By the spring of 1945 the Germans were whipped, and the Allies were advancing fast. He told us that his unit rarely took prisoners. It was just a logistics thing, he said.
Billy Sherman was right. War is hell.
We did it to Germans too after Normandy and especially liberating camps
The NVA routinely killed prisoners
As did the hessians
And Henry V
He put he cream of French noble youth as prisoners to the sword as a precaution over his baggage train
One of the foolhardiest things Obama did was getting suckered by the French into a war with Libya. However, in retrospect, one of the very few smart things he did was to leave Libya shortly after killing Gaddafi and letting them return to their natural state of tribal warfare rather than spending decades there on the fool’s mission of “bringing democracy”. His was a case of wrong entry, right exit. Whereas Afghanistan was a case of right entry, wrong exit. US national security interest necessitated sending a message by bombing them and enabling the undemocratic Northern Alliance and Pashtuns to drive out the Taliban. We achieved our messaging objective and won in three months. We snatched defeat from victory when we changed the mission to “bringing democracy” to their backward tribal society rather than leaving them with the rubble as a reminder to the returning Taliban what happens when they house terrorist threats to the US and let them return to their centuries old tribal warfare.
“Our Marxist overlords will do the same to us...”
Which federal clown show would do that?
Might it be the affirmative action slobs at the FDA who sit on their fat asses all day and gorge themselves on two-litter bottles of pop?
Or perhaps the professorial Harvard weenies at the Federal Reserve?
Both, as we know, are highly trained combat battalions who have been awarded presidential citations for extraordinary heroism in combat, right? Right?
Richard the lion hearted razed villages women and kids if he was in the mood
The Comanches bless their hearts kept captives ....for torture and gang rape fun
Taking captives is more the exception than the rule total history timeline wise
They aren’t going to let you live so why surrender? At least take a few out before you go down. Escape….something.
My dad said that the movie “Fury” was probably the closest to real. They killed the SS guy who was surrendering in one scene.
This was a hard death, but knowing how the Taliban can be, these newly dead men may be better off meeting their demise now, vs later by ISIS like tactics.
