your post `10 mentions James Chesnut who I believe is Mary Chesnuit’s husband. Mary Chesnut wrote a Diary which is considered one on the best accounts of the happenings and feelings in Richmond during the war as many know.

Imho, from all the illustrations and photos of Winfield Scott, I firmly believe he was constipated or had Crones disease.

The is a good as won for the union if they put George McClellan in charge. He was 2nd in his class at West Point and is a soldier’s soldier. He’ll spank that Bobby Lee hard!
