As cossetted, spoiled. U.S. leftists despoil the U.S. flag, those who know what real tyranny is have another take.
Maybe Cuban kids in the future will remember this weekend's marches as the beginning of a new chapter in the island's history. We certainly hope so. It looks from here that the government has few options. They can fight back or do nothing. Either way the marches will go on.
We've had a lot of debate up here about the U.S. flag. So it was fascinating to read about a certain flag carried by protesters in Cuba.
This is the story:
Protesters in America: Burn the US Flag, a symbol of freedom, liberty, & justice—ideals that EVERY American possesses but so often ignore.
vs.
Protestors in Cuba: Fly the American Flag & are willing to die for the freedom, liberty, & justice that’s synonymous with the USA.
I don't know if the wokes, or their indoctrinators in U.S. colleges, understand what this means, but it happened. It reminded me of Lady Liberty marching in Hong Kong not long ago.
It's amazing. On one hand, immature U.S. citizens, spoiled by prosperity and freedom they don't appreciate, won't respect the U.S. flag.
On the other hand, people brought up in a communist state with no freedom sure know what flag represents their aspirations of freedom.
As someone said, a teachable moment if the wokes are smart enough to see it.

I wasn’t calling us “a” democracy. I was commenting on our fraudulent elections and our loss of meaningful democratic processes to keep our republic functioning properly.
The people want freedom. The NYT, biden, democrats and the pope all oppose the people of Cuba and want them to live under the iron hand of their communist dictatorship.
That tells me that we are right and have always been.
Not so sure. You seem to think that wokies can learn, which is doubtful. No, wokies fundamentally hate everything about America. So, seeing the flag is at best a sign of defiance. Worse, an attack. Being woke MEANS “my beliefs (fed to me by the little voice in my head) are more important and more valid than anything you can even dream of”. The American flag was imagined and then first hoisted as a sign of the beginning of individual liberty. Woke = hive mind. They are psychopaths.
They were flying it in Hong Kong at protests as well last year until China used Covid19 as an excuse to squash their protests.
Any day now I’m sure the Media Mogul-Dem Party will release video of them waving the “Black Lies Matter” flag, and down the Memory Hole will go the video of them waving American flags.

Agreed, but it is worse than that for some of them, the ones who think they are the smartest and wokest. They see Cubans in the streets with US flags, and say, “the poor, benighted little people. They don’t know what is good for them. That is why we the progressive elite must force them to do what is best.”

I was attempting to refer to the process of people voting in an honest election. I guess I failed to make that clear. Sorry.
I think a very, very small percentage of wokies may really wake up and see the errors of their ways. The rest are lost to any logic. They will only cause destruction to others as they live their lives.
And, from the libocrats view point, if they know what’s good for them they’ll throw those symbols of racism down and stay where it’s safe and goodness and light shine on them everyday. Not to mention rainbows and unicorns.
