I wonder how he was dressed?
Matching hoodie and sweat pants?
He’s a lying SOS.
He didn’t meet the dress code. So now he’s playing the race card.
I had the same thig happen to me in a Ethan Allan furniture store. So what? Get over it.
Agreed. I suspect the refusal to seat him and his party had far more to do with attire than skin color. Hey, I’ve been given a tie to wear “so I wouldn’t feel out of place” in an establishment in NYC. Not racism, as 20-something geek I just didn’t anticipate the host of our business meeting suggesting that kind of place.
Upset because he thought he didn’t need a reservation?
is this a whites only restaurant
any black patrons served?
I’m assuming this was some sort of dress code violation (”he looked him up and down”), and not a racial thing, which probably would have been illegal. Many years ago, I was asked to leave a hoity-toity bar because I was wearing a hat, which I was told violated their dress code. I think they associated the wearing of hats indoors with gang culture or pimping.
this sounds more like a “do you know who i am?” situation
Guess not all UGA Athletes can be as classy as Herschel Walker.
It’s sad, but we have the “woke” left and their media to blame for shoving white vrs black racism down our throats. Everything was fine, this never would have happened 2 years ago. They have succeeded in opening the healing wound of race relations our country had gone a long way to mend. It’s unfortunate, but there is now a growing animosity against the once nearly invisible skin color awareness in current social situations in an increasingly negative way.
“We have done and will continue do the work to ensure our restaurant
is a place where all feel welcome.” The restaurant’s general manager
told Atlanta’s WGCL-TV on Monday that Wilkins was turned away
because he was “in track pants.” “We were being consistent with our
policy,” said the GM, Mark Hoefer.May 25, 2021
Another oppressed multi-millionaire.
Another sorely oppressed multi-millionaire. LOL
Well, if he “looked him up and down” it is obvious that it was not the COLOR OF HIS SKIN that made him unsightly.
Perhaps people in general should dress a little better before going to restaurants and weddings and such.
Eric Montross thought the Celtics drafted him to play basketball.
Wrong!!! They drafted him to drive Dee Brown around Boston…
Exactly.
I had a similar experience once in Chicago when I walked into the wrong door.
Hostess was kind of enough to smile and say the place I was looking for was located across the street. Pre Google maps directions sucked.
“He said, ‘I’ve never got turned down by a single restaurant in my life until this new restaurant. I’ve been to all the top restaurants in the city –”

So he admits he’s incredibly privileged but this one time it could be nothing but racism. Yeah ok.
