During an interview on CNN's "State of the Union," Fauci agreed that vaccine mandates should become a reality on the "local level."
"I have been of this opinion, and I remain of that opinion, that I do believe at the local level, Jake, there should be more mandates. There really should be," Fauci told host Jake Tapper.
"We're talking about life-and-death situation. We have lost 600,000 Americans already, and we're still losing more people. There have been 4 million deaths worldwide. This is serious business. So, I am in favor of that," he added.
In fact, Fauci foreshadowed what may come in the near future: vaccine mandates when the Food and Drug Administration gives the vaccines official approval.
Currently, COVID vaccines being used in the U.S. have been awarded emergency authorization only.
I think the hesitancy at the local level of doing mandates is because the vaccines have not been officially fully approved. But people need to understand that the amount of data right now that shows a high degree of effectiveness and a high degree of safety is more than we have ever seen with emergency use authorization. So, these vaccines are as good as officially approved with all the I's dotted and the T's crossed. It hasn't been done yet because the FDA has to do certain things, but it's as good as done.

They won’t force you to get a shot. They’ll send you a notice to show up. If you don’t, they’ll fine you. Heavily. And keep adding fines until you pay.
They might also send your non-vax status to the IRS or state taxing authorities, to act as collection agencies. It’s a great way to raise money, while simultaneously compelling vaccinations.
I’ve read that only about 25% blacks are vaxxed. No matter. Illegals and people in the ‘hood will just ignore the fines, and the taxing authorities will ignore them.

No mandates acceptable from government. OK, the freaking tax mandate will never die. But health related mandates NOT acceptable.

In 1986, the space shuttle Challenger blew up a minute after launch. Several engineers with Morton Thiokol warned before the launch that the O rings were dangerous and that launching the shuttle in cold weather could lead to catastrophic failure.
They were overruled and the launch took place — because there was tremendous pressure from NASA on all of its contractors to launch on schedule. Morton Thiokol transferred out two engineers who adamantly refused to sign off on the launch.
Seven people died unnecessarily because of pressure to approve the launch.
This vaccine emergency approval reminds me of that. If there are any problems with the vaccine — and I do mean if,because I truly don’t know — I don’t believe that many people would have the intestinal fortitude to stand up against the weight of the entire federal government, and if they did, I can easily imagine their superiors overriding their objections and approving the vaccine anyway. These days, any objectors wouldn’t just be transferred out; they’d likely be disappeared.
