We are rather keen, if not actually desperate to find a DVM, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, who would like to come to Southeast Alaska on a rotating or permanent basis.
I know. It's an unconventional way of finding help but we are getting needy. We don't want another left wingnut so I thought I would let my FRiends know about a great opportunity in this outdoorsmen's paradise.
If you are a DVM or know someone who might fit, please let me know via PM
If this is inappropriate, please take it down.
I wish I were a DVM. So wonderful to see someone finally, openly, requesting an employee who is not a “...left wingnut.” Like.
I too wish I were a DVM! Do you, by chance, have a Holiday Inn Express?
I recently hired a young attorney, who grew up in Fairbanks/Anchorage (military parents). He’s a conservative Catholic, with all the right stuff. I have high hopes for him.
Wishing you luck! I don’t know any.
There might be someone out of Bellingham or better yet, Lynden WA, from Whatcom County.
Contact any of the DVM schools in the USA. Take your pick.
They are listed on the internet.
Is this the type of thing you might send to various vet schools? Don’t know if that type of thing is ever done.
Can you change the weather about?
I’m a southern kind of guy
Good luck. Alaska is beautiful.

Others also. The plug for my own state's vet school is of course obligatory, even if they are the aggies.
How about Michelle Oakley, Yukon vet?
I moved here from Hawaii. Weather is not as bad as you might think. It's a big state and we are in the extreme Southeast. Still, it ain't Florida.
There really are so few of us veterinarians, about 130,000 in all of US, Mexico, and Canada. There are more attorneys in Boston, I believe.
And that includes all new grads to old dinosaurs like me. I would write to AVMA and then to veterinary colleges. Biggest classes to graduate are likely Texas A&M, and Ohio State. You would have to lobby hard. Student loan debt is a killer. You might try a creative public service group. I’m just spitalling here, good luck.
SpitBalling
I think it’s a fantastic idea!
Maybe a semi retired freeper?
Anyone need a senior level computer systems engineer up there?
Another thought, try contacting the Iditarod group, and ask for a list of their veterinary staff and volunteers. You might find a young crazy that wants to move.

Well, ask him if he knows somebody!
