DENVER – Police feared a “Las Vegas-style shooting” during the All-Star Game in Denver after receiving a tip from a housekeeper working at a hotel not far from Coors Field. The hotel employee discovered more than a dozen weapons and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside one of the rooms Friday night.
Multiple informed law enforcement sources connected with the investigation told Denver7’s Liz Gelardi and Denver7 chief investigative reporter Tony Kovaleski that they found the weapons inside a room on the eighth floor of the Maven Hotel as All-Star Game celebrations got underway.
Sources said police removed 16 long guns, body armor and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition from the room which featured a balcony overlooking the downtown area. The sources said they feared the number of weapons, ammo, vantage point and large crowds could have resulted in a "Las Vegas-style shooting."
Based on the information provided by the hotel employee, police executed a search warrant and found the guns, ammo, body armor and a man inside the room on the eighth floor.
One of the suspects arrested Friday night had posted a message on Facebook referencing a recent divorce and saying he was going to “go out in a big way,” according to the multiple law enforcement sources.

Local/state cops should be sure to explore whether the FBI was involved, or whether any of the 4 ever had contact with FBI.

n looking at the photo gallery, at the hotel’s website, many rooms, including upper floor rooms, have accessible balconies. Coors Field is easily seen from the upper floors. Those fans in the upper level concession area would be an easy target.

What ever happened to all the evidence on the Vegas shooting? Will we ever know the real story?
I’m always reminded that when California failed to get enough support to pass their A-s-s-ault Rifle Ban Bill, they shelved the bill.
Then they released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to illegally buy guns, passing the waiting period.
He then went and shot up the Stockton School yard killing several kids and himself.
The shelved bill was pulled out and passed before any opposition could be mounted against it.
Gee, it’s a good thing they moved the All Star Game out of Atlanta.
cops subsequently have claimed that they have come to believe that those arrested were pretty much just garden variety drug and illegal gun dealers and that there was no intent of terrorist acts ... the arrested have past criminal records and drugs were found in the hotel rooms ...
Is it illegal to have weapons and ammo in a motel room? What laws were they breaking?
Which means it was a terror attack in progress!
I believe all of them were not to be in possession of guns due to priors. They had illegal drugs probably in larger than single person amounts. Gun and drug runners for cartel gang warfare? They may have had hard to get ammo also. Said 1000+ rounds...but how much + ?
