Bill Cosby's spokesman has said he hopes to recoup damages for wrongful incarceration from the state of Pennsylvania, and accused attorneys for the comedian's accusers of having 'an ax to grind against black men.'
Cosby was released from prison on June 30 after serving two years behind bars, when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court vacated his 2018 conviction for sexual assault, citing violations of his due process rights.
Now, his publicist Andrew Wyatt says that Cosby hopes to win 'a couple hundred grand' in compensation for the time he spend behind bars on the now-vacated conviction.
'We are looking at what recourse, what legal recourse we can take against the state of Pennsylvania,' Wyatt told The Domenick Nati Show in an interview on Friday. 'We are looking at all legal angles for those things right now.'

he raped the United Colors of Benneton- white, black, brown, he wasn’t picky!
He also joke about drugging women for sex in his comedy routine years ago... He is a pig.
At least he didnt sniff embfir all to see... and most were over 14...
not all of them. Some, like Andrea Constead did not feel well, and he gave her pills. She’a a lesbian, do you think she’d want to sleep with that ugly man???
Violations of his due process rights.
It took two years for the issue to arise sounds like a money trail needs looking to.
The PA Supreme Court is notoriously partisan and corrupt. They could have changed their minds based upon some obscure change in PAs political landscape. They could have even been bribed.
“and even if somebody took a pill willingly- does not mean she wants to have sex. Sorry to all that will be be outraged.”
I tried to suggest that idea to another poster in a different thread on Cosby but some people don’t get it. And I’m a guy.
Or maybe they didn’t want to take the political and social heat for doing the right thing in the middle of the #metoo jihad.
The Supreme Court majority was avoiding handling the more obvious problems with the case.
Such as allowing women to testify about allegations they were making that they had never filed a police complaint on, and all of which were long past the very long deadline to bring any charges.
This case was rotten from day one.
“Who was allowed to grant him such CRIMINAL immunity during a private civil case? Who has that authority?”
Having dealt with the prosecutor’s office, I can tell you they have huge discretion. But they are not allowed to ignore the constitution. This is because our founding fathers came from a place where the accused had no rights at all. They reasoned that it was better to let a guilty man go free than to wrongly convict an innocent man. Thus, the prosecutor is empowered to make binding agreements. This is because they almost never have a slam-dunk case with all the evidence they need for a conviction. (As was this case where Cosby, in a criminal proceeding had his fifth amendment rights against self incrimination.) There were enough problems with the accuser’s statements that the prosecutor reasoned he’d lose a culminal case. By letting Cosby testify in a civil case, the new prosecutor reasoned that he’d waved his fifth amendment rights. Without the prior agreement to not prosecute, probably the civil case would have been lost. The question the prosecutor has to deal with is, what does he do to get the maximum amount of justice under the rules he has to operate by? He does not get to change the rules after the game has started.
The judge in the case had campaigned on putting Crosby in prison. He should have recused himself and let an impartial judge take the case. He didn’t. It was a huge breach of the intent of the laws to protect the accused.
Whether Cosby is guilty or not, his rights...our rights, had been violated.
Some lawyers and a judge should be disbarred. The only ones penalized will be the taxpayers.
All involved are villiany and scum.
May they all be humiliated, disgraced and bankrupted. The “women” included.
It’s hard to know what the truth is.
On one hand Cosby as a kind of straight laced guy but on the other hand he hung out with a lot of lefties and then there
was the Playboy mansion.
Which isn’t a crime but it doesn’t make him seem squeaky clean either.
He also wants to do comedy again, I think this proves he’s still a joke.
Sending him to prison was a waste of taxpayers $$. He should have been fined by paying some restitution to his victims and kept on house arrest instead. It’s not like he’s a violent criminal plus he’s elderly. Not condoning the date rape charges but those were from many years ago. If he wins the suit that’s even more taxpayers money wasted again. He should just slink off and enjoy his remaining years jail free and low key. As for the judicial system it’s rotgut puke just like it’s practitioners.
What happened to all the “me too” gals? The elephant in the room is Cosby is a serial rapist and got away with it for years.
Thanks for the clarification. I agree with that smoke fire analogy.
“Me too” was all about getting Trump.
But why was a criminal prosecutor involved in a civil lawsuit?
Shouldn’t that have been Cosby’s lawyer versus her lawyer?
“But why was a criminal prosecutor involved in a civil lawsuit?”
My understanding is that the civil case could not proceed until after the criminal case was settled. If the prosecutor had criminally prosecuted Cosby and lost, then the civil case would most likely have been lost as well. In the law, you almost never get what you want. But the limitations set on the government are intended to prevent using the prosecutor’s office for political revenge. (Which is what we see happening to all Trump associated people being prosecuted.)
