In these Strange Days, it's not a bad idea to have a little set back. Or a lot. I think we all saw empty shelves last year. We didn't go without though. Since I'm a prepper, I stocked up on TP and food and even bought a small freezer for meat when I saw empty shelves in Italy. My wife no longer thinks my prepping mentality is a little wacky, 20 years later. This year is turning out to be the year of systems hacking. Extreme weather events can happen most anywhere at any time preventing travel to a store.
The first thread was based on Water and this second thread on Food Storage and Preservation which I'm providing some related downloads for. Anything involving prepping can be discussed though.
Here are the download links. You can browse all files in the folders and preview most of them as most are pdf files. Alternatively, you can download all files as a zip file which is 42.9mb using the bottom link.

Here are the links to the AZ Granny info from the previous thread which covers most things prepping related.

As a zip file with the html files in a folder. Save the zip, unzip and you'll have a folder with 75 html files. Keep those files in the folder and the links will work when you open in a browser.

Thank you for the ping. So much information.
Easy-peasy prepping hint.
My mulberries quit coming a few weeks ago and now the blackberries are in. Small tart plums will be next.
They all require practically NO CARE and are delicious and sure crops.
(Just gotta get to them before the birds.)

Posting a recipe for Bread using a potato wild yeast starter:
No yeast? No problem! You can grow your own with just flour, water and sugar. In this case, Potato water. Thanks to the Potato Growers of Canada for the slide!
YEAST/STARTER
1 med potato, cubed, cook as for mashed potatoes
1 1/2 to 2 C water
1 C flour
1 tbs sugar
Boil the potato and water as you would mashed potatoes.
Let cool.
Drain potato water into 1 qt mason jar.
Add sugar and flour, shake up to mix well.
Set in warm place with cloth or paper towel over top overnight or roughly 12 hrs.
Should double in size, be bubbly and smell yeasty. cap and place in fridge to store.
Feed weekly. 1 1/2 C flour, 1 1/2 C water, 1 tbs sugar.
2 tbs of starter = 1 tbs conventional dry yeast.

NOTE: in other videos and recipes, the amount of flour used initially was just 1 tablespoon, and it was added after the bubbles had started and the potato was left in the water— about 12 hrs in a mason jar. When the flour was added, the jar was shaken to mix it and then used to immediately make the bread—and did not keep the starter going—even the potato was used in the bread.
Is this thread still happening? Cause I have not been getting pinged to it.
If it is, could I be put on the ping list?
Kinda gave up on the prepping threads as there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of interest. One had 35 replies, another 68. News articles about inflation, which there are no shortage of these days, get more replies and always have some replies about prepping.
Been meaning to just ping the list to articles like that on occasion.
I checked and I wasn’t pinged to this thread either.
Please add me (again :).
Thanks.
And, thanks for the potato yeast recipe, dear greeneyes. That’s a keeper.
I can understand, holding ping lists of my own.
If you’d rather just ping to prepper related threads about inflation and shortages, that’s fine too. I just didn’t know if I was missing something.
👍You are welcome Jane.
Pollard, I did a search to find the thread so I could post the recipe — I don’t think I am on the ping list either-at least no recent pings.
