Ethiopia claims that it’s home to the Ark of the Covenant. It’s kept in a church in the city of Aksum that’s so closely guarded, even Indiana Jones would have trouble getting in.

Somebody should just ask 'em.

You can stand on Marie Osmond’s porch with a dozen red roses and three boxes of candy, and she’ll still have you thrown off her porch.

The U.S. Capitol. Even when it’s open to the public they’ll throw you in jail for visiting, let alone protesting.

There used to be a SF bookstore called Forbidden Planet.

And an anarcho-indie bookstore called Forbidden Books.

I wish Stevie Nicks would show up in her birthday suit with a jar of pickles and a bottle of baby oil.

2. LASCAUX CAVE [France] The sketches of horses, deer, and other animals date back to the Upper Paleolithic period...

The actual cave has been closed since 1963 to prevent further deterioration of the paintings from too many human visitors. Since 2016, an above ground [entry] museum, LASCAUX IV, that does an excellent job of duplicating the actual cave has opened in near proximity. Recommended!

7. ULURU (FORMERLY AYERS ROCK) [Australia]

You CAN VISIT but climbing to the top of this 335 meter / 1,099 feet sandstone monolith is no longer permitted. You can circumnavigate the 10 kilometer / 6.2 mile base (need lots of water).

Several areas of the Nahanni National Park Reserve in Canada about 100 miles north of the Montana are restricted also.

It is a very remote location with some bizarre decapitations documented and native lore of white walkers.

“Hello Doc, my friend was just bitten on the butt by a Golden Lancehead what should I do?...Ok, cut and X and suck the poison out, got it, thanks.”

What did the doc say?

“Doc says you’re going to die.”
