2. LASCAUX CAVE [France] The sketches of horses, deer, and other animals date back to the Upper Paleolithic period...

The actual cave has been closed since 1963 to prevent further deterioration of the paintings from too many human visitors. Since 2016, an above ground [entry] museum, LASCAUX IV, that does an excellent job of duplicating the actual cave has opened in near proximity. Recommended!

7. ULURU (FORMERLY AYERS ROCK) [Australia]

You CAN VISIT but climbing to the top of this 335 meter / 1,099 feet sandstone monolith is no longer permitted. You can circumnavigate the 10 kilometer / 6.2 mile base (need lots of water).

Back in 1987, I climbed Uluru. Beautiful view from the top.
