WASHINGTON, Saturday, July 6.
The Senate caucus to-day resolved to post- pone the nomination of a Secretary in place of DICKENS till next Tuesday.
The new Clerk of the House has determined not to make any change among his subordinates until the commencement of the regular session in December next.
The Cayuga Regiment, Col. CLARK, and the Niagara Regiment, Col. DONNELY, left Washington to-day by rail. They are to join Gen. PATTERSON's column.
Majorities of both Houses of Congress have determined to make the session as short as possible.
A quarrel has broken out between Lieut.-Col. RIPLEY, or the Ordnance Department, and Col. CRAIG, the former head. The subject cause runs back to the days of FLOYD.
There is no movement in advance of the troops on the Virginia side. I do not think there will be for some days yet. LEO.
