Jessica Springsteen, the daughter of rock star Bruce Springsteen, has been selected for the Tokyo Olympics show jumping team, the U.S. equestrian team announced Monday.
Springsteen and her 12-year-old stallion, Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, will be part of a four-member squad that also includes McLain Ward, Kent Farrington and Laura Kraut.
Ward has helped the U.S. to gold in the team jumping event at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and a silver medal winner along with Farrington at the 2016 Rio Games.
Kraut was also part of the 2008 Beijing gold-medal squad.
The 29-year-old Springsteen was an alternate at the 2012 London Summer Games but failed in her bid to make the 2016 Rio Games.

Was Jessica born “Jack” by any chance?
LOL! Even better. My Dad would’ve been proud. He was a veterinarian by trade and always said he much preferred the equine type of horse’s arse to the human type.
Bruce is a hypocrite and I can’t understand the fascination people have with him here in NJ. That said, his son is a firefighter in the Jersey City FD so that’s about as “regular guy” as you can get.
Media hype. Springsteen was my introduction to media bias in the late 70’s. While rags like Rolling Stone magazine were crapping over great bands like the mighty Led Zeppelin, they were pumping out article after article calling springsteen the next coming. I wrote a LTE to RS about the bias in the early 80’s and they actually published it.
Politics aside, i never liked springsteen’s music- monotonous and redundant. When i told people i didn’t like him the response back then was ALWAYS, “have you seen him in concert??? have you seen him in concert??”
So i did- a girlfriend i was dating liked springsteen, got tickets and i agreed to go. After the first three songs i thought, “hey this is pretty good!! I may like it!!!”
Then i remembered why i didn’t like springsteen as the 4th song sounded exactly like the 5th song which sounded exactly like the 6th song which sounded exactly like the 7th song. Then there was the lecturing after every song. Then there was an obnoxious 25 minute version of the Beatles “Twist and Shout” complete with people on the stage dressed like bears dancing around.
I left the concert with my girlfriend, stuck a cassette tape (no CD’s back then) of “Trampled Under Foot” in the cars cassette player, rolled down the windows and blasted it as we left.
It’s a sport for the very rich. No different than dogs in the big dog shows. Rich owners hire very expensive trainers and don’t really spend much time with their own dogs.
Yes- but dog owners breed their champion dogs and make $$$ when they sell the puppies. Maybe its the same for equestrian horses- i don’t know.
“which requires quite a bit of man-handling to complete in the allotted time”
Bad sport then. Just not into man-handling my horses.
She’s not bad looking in an aquiline way
I don’t fault her rich dad or her
I don’t like Springsteen anymore than Bono because they are so full of themselves
Nebraska is the only album I like....he did to be honest ....that a few songs here and there
It’s a northeastern house band thing you have to understand I guess
Stone Pony equates to The Jug in Jacksonville or the old Oar House on Anna Maria island
