Jessica Springsteen, the daughter of rock star Bruce Springsteen, has been selected for the Tokyo Olympics show jumping team, the U.S. equestrian team announced Monday.
Springsteen and her 12-year-old stallion, Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, will be part of a four-member squad that also includes McLain Ward, Kent Farrington and Laura Kraut.
Ward has helped the U.S. to gold in the team jumping event at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and a silver medal winner along with Farrington at the 2016 Rio Games.
Kraut was also part of the 2008 Beijing gold-medal squad.
The 29-year-old Springsteen was an alternate at the 2012 London Summer Games but failed in her bid to make the 2016 Rio Games.

He is the horse plop part of it.
Tramps like her were born to jump.
I do agree the rich can buy outstanding horses, and have trainers to care for them.
Saying that, you do have to be a great rider to jump horses.
My horseback riding is limited to team roping.
My wife competes in Eventing and Fox Hunting. That is jumping in an outdoor environment. Speeds are a lot faster.
Anyone that can do that is an exceptional rider.
I’ve competed against a lot of “ready-to-show” competitors and it sucks.

Been there, done that .... you are correct.
Ala Christopher Reeve. William Shatner was quoted as saying you could see the fear in Reeves eyes on the horse, he never should have been on it.
Revved up like a douche.
Amost ..... :-)
Horse show:
Horses’ @sses on horses’ @asses showing horses’ @sses to horses’ @sses.
Some people like to do things that they fear.
I have climbed in the mountains with folks that claim they are fearful.
As long as they are safe, it should not exclude them from participating.
Accidents happen.
Does he stable the horse on his “farm”?
And where is peta? Shouldn’t they be protesting the use of horses?
It is part of why I cannot stand to watch English riding. I assume the horses get used to it, but I've ridden my own horses for years without ever making them look like that! And in this case, she is obviously balancing using the reins to support her.
If you are in balance WITH your horse, you don't need the reins for support. And yes, you can stand in the stirrups and canter around BALANCED without using the reins to help you. If you can't, you shouldn't be in the Olympics!
Will Springsteen be dressed in a white suit drinking mint juleps as his daughter rides?
You're not safe jumping a world class horse when you haven't the required skills
This is the nature of horse sports - it’s all about how much money can be brought to bear.
And as far as the riders go, the greatest horseman of all time probably never had a chance to ride a horse.
Ugh! I can’t stand to look at that picture. Poor horse.

Slim Pickens"
FWIW, I assume the woman is a decent rider. Jumping on horses is not easy. But I don't like her form, although it seems to be what is popular now.
I’ll be rooting for any warm body or Country besides her.
...but...
...daughter has been competing in eventing for 20+ years...
...if this picture was taken during "stadium jumping"...
...the course is usually purposely very tight...
...which requires quite a bit of man-handling to complete in the allotted time...
...as far as high$$$ push button horses...
...reckon my poor old arse can take some credit for my daughters riding abilities...lol
i love horses, wouldn’t want to treat them like that unless i was in battle and fearing for our lives
not for a stupid contest, i dont care olympics or not
