You may have misunderstood my agreement with your previous post. I think Abbot has done about all he had the power to do.

Abbott, as incumbent, has name recognition that West does not.
Some will see West as a state jumper who couldn’t manage more than one term as a Rep in Florida, and stayed just long enough as Texas GOP Chair to promote his political aspirations.

I’m beginning to think we need to nominate more noteworthy/accomplished blacks to run. ‘Helps’ with the racism charge. Hershel? Vernon Jones? Then there’s that black house speaker(Ok.) 10 years back that lost the senate nomination to the paleface redhead who is now wobbly. That one suggested comfort(redhead) over opportunity. So what else is out there? Lt. Gov. from Carolina and The Kentucky Atty. General. The Lt. Gov. runs for a senate seat in his mid-term(fallback). The young Ky. Atty. gen. can succeed turtle or be even a SCOTUS nominee-button pusher. Does it start with Col. West?
For those of you who want to see Abbott removed from office, may I remind you West’s entry into the primary virtually guarantees Abbott will be the GOP nominee. West will split the anti-Abbott vote with Don Huffines and clear the path for Abbot.
I plan to vote for Huffines.

Abbott has lost support from me and most Conservative Texans I know. Not sure Allen West will get my vote yet. Right now Huffines is who I’m somewhat supporting. But I will not vote for Abbott again. I need to do some homework on West to decide between he and Huffines.
I think Abbott is more of a poseur than a true conservative, but I would prefer that West had won a few more contests other than one stint as a Florida congressman. I just don’t think he is a winner.
What is West’s problem with Huffines? He’d better have a good reason for it.
Abbot is a Bushie, and is only as conservative as he has to be to get elected.
That RINO GOPe class needs to be replaced with people who will walk the walk, as well as talk the talk every four years, and ask us to send them money and give them our votes, only to turn around and stab us in the back.
The GOPe needs to spend the next few cycles looking over their shoulders for challengers from the right.
Allen West is a Great American, but I don’t know why he can’t get elected to office. Maybe he should aim lower, such as a race for Mayor.
