One of the rafts on the Raging River ride at Adventureland Park in Altoona, Iowa flipped, resulting in the fatal accident, CBS News affiliate KCCI reports.
On Friday, the ride reopened to the public for the first time since 2020 and underwent a full inspection first, park officials said, according to KCCI.
Six people were on the raft when it flipped. Because the ride is at a remote distance from the park entrances, it was difficult for fire officials to get to the location, KCCI reported.

I have been on that ride. Sad
Sad.
Looked everywhere and not one picture of the ride.
This accident was on the first day of reopening after being closed all last year. Something went wrong with it during that long shutdown.
We can quite realistically mark these as deaths caused by Covid, as without the lockdown this accident would never have happened.
here is a link to a POV video for the ride https://youtu.be/mzfYtvHCCBg
Thanks. Thought it might be that sort of raft but didn’t think that type would flip. Wonder if the passengers were doing something to cause the accident.
be a good ride for nipple spotting
I wonder if the folks were heavier on one side....the weight wasn’t even and it flipped going over a rock because of it......

Rode it once in 1986 the year of its debut. Even as a kid I didn’t like it so much. My mom hated it.
